The Unflattering Style Pam Bondi Can't Stop Wearing
Pam Bondi doesn't often speak about her fashion choices, but we can guess her favorite outfit template. Just like Kate Middleton, who proves over and over again that pantsuits can make powerful outfits, the attorney general loves this bold ensemble. And to her credit, she has nailed it on a few occasions, notably donning a trendy sage iteration in September 2025. As her time in the White House goes on, she continues to rock this powerful look, sometimes looking chic with an array of black and blue styles, but just like anyone else experimenting with fashion, Bondi can't get it right all the time. She's also accumulated a portfolio of looks that should be featured in "how not to wear a pantsuit" classes.
Bondi's biggest style mistakes that make the versatile pantsuit so unflattering for her often have to do with color, particularly when it comes to matching different shades together. She's also occasionally fallen in the trap of trying to do too much with her pantsuits at once, when the reality is that less will always be more with this statement look. The answer isn't for Bondi to ditch the pantsuits altogether since we know she's capable of pulling off a good one; rather, it's to be more mindful with how she approaches her styling. The silver lining is that we can all learn from Bondi's pantsuit blunders, particularly if you want to nail androgynous dressing.
Pam Bondi has had a few solid monochrome moments, but this wasn't one of them
While visiting the U.S. Park Police Anacostia Operations Facility in August 2025, Pam Bondi went for a monochrome moment with her dark-green oversized suit. Unfortunately, the effort didn't pay off here. The bagginess of the suit combined with the three-way monochrome drown Bondi rather than enhancing her look, especially in a dark color. She does win points for the oversized suit aesthetic, which Hailey Bieber has re-popularized in recent years, but even with the baggy silhouette, the pants could have been tailored better at the hem so that she wasn't dragging fabric along the ground.
Don't forget to match your whites like Pam Bondi
Some of Pam Bondi's best pantsuit moments have involved blue, so this periwinkle blazer that she wore to a May 2025 news conference in Washington, D.C. had the potential to create a winning look. Unfortunately, Bondi's blunder was the mismatch of pants and top, which appear to be off-white or ivory and true white, respectively. Especially as the shirt is tucked in to the pants, the subtle color difference suddenly becomes obvious, and not even the complementary blazer can disguise it.
Some Pam Bondi pantsuits have too much going on
Color-blocking and pattern-mixing can certainly work with pantsuits, but still, there needs to be a sense of cohesion. Unfortunately, Pam Bondi's 'fit at the U.S. Open in September 2025 had a little too much going on, and the story this look was trying to tell got lost. Black pants paired with a baby-pink blazer already creates a jarring effect, and adding a striped shirt into the mix leads to sensory overload. This isn't one of Pam Bondi's most inappropriate outfits, but it's also not her best. With white pants, this could have been a solid look.
Pantsuit patterns should be approached delicately
Hats off to Pam Bondi for not shying away from printed button-downs — a bold choice in any circumstance, and particularly when the base color is yellow and you're at a professional event. She wore this look on the National Day of Prayer at the White House Rose Garden in May 2025, and while the palette was a nice throwback to the 'lemon girl' summer of 2023 that had us styling yellow shades in eccentric ways, the print was literally swallowed by the rest of the outfit. Bright graphics like that need to be owned, not half-tucked into pants and then cinched in with a belt for good measure.
Pam Bondi unintentionally channeled the '70s
Given that Pam Bondi wore this red suit to a Florida press conference in April 2025 while serving as the attorney general, it's safe to assume she wasn't trying to pay tribute to what people found attractive in the '70s. But this particular shade of red, the oversized collar, and the dramatic flared hem rocketed this look back to the days of disco. Flared bottoms are en vogue again, but you can avoid coming off as unintentionally vintage by balancing out the rest of your outfit so there's not too much retro energy, especially in a professional setting.
Pam Bondi didn't pull off pinstripes this time
Pam Bondi has pinstripe suits in her rotation, and they do look amazing sometimes, but an ankle-length pinstripe coat over a gray plaid suit and black turtleneck was not the move. She wore this in January 2020 while attending Donald Trump's impeachment trial, so it's understandable that she was trying to rug up. But the long pinstripe outerwear combined with the other maximalist details just made this look feel like it was trying too hard. With this particular ensemble, she would have been better off ditching the coat and braving the cold.
Bright pantsuits can either soar or sink ... and it sank
We have nothing against vibrant pantsuits, but they do need to be approached with care. Attending the February 2025 Conservative Political Action Conference, Pam Bondi opted for a magenta suit to pair with her go-to black turtleneck, and she seemed to forget two key rules of wearing bold colors. Again, if you have an intense feature in your outfit, in this case the saturated color, the rest of the look should be toned down rather than covering you up to your neck. Next, bright hues tend to fare better if they're trending, which this purple was not.
Someone tell Pam Bondi about the black-and-brown rule
Brown is one of 2025's trendiest colors, but Pam Bondi didn't quite nail this look because of one small detail. Wearing a simple black top works with nearly every suit color under the sun ... except dark brown. Contrary to the age-old rule of separating these two shades at all costs, light-brown tones actually look great with black. But dark brown creates a confusing blending that's neither here nor there. Bondi did improve this look by going for an updo at the U.S. Capitol in December 2024, which saved the amalgamation of dark colors from totally swallowing her up.
