Danica Patrick rose to national prominence about two decades ago when the brunette beauty took race-car driving by storm. To this day, she is the only woman to win a major IndyCar race — the Indy Japan 300 — which she accomplished in 2008. She immediately caught the world's attention because she was a female superstar in a male-dominated industry, but fans and sponsors have also long loved her down-to-earth beauty.

Patrick, who was born in March 1982, has never been known to wear a lot of makeup, though she has showed her glam side for red-carpet events, hosting gigs, and speaking appearances. Since she retired from racing in 2018, Patrick has stayed busy with a podcast, "Pretty Intense," a wine brand based in California, a candle brand, a clothing label, and racing commentary. She also spends a fair amount of time in the great outdoors at her alpine property in Colorado, which she shares with her dogs. As she hikes around the property, she tends to take a fair few selfies that prove Patrick knows how to look fresh-faced when she doesn't have makeup on. Surprisingly, though, her routine doesn't include much SPF.

Danica Patrick keeps her makeup-free face radiant with these products and treatments

We've had a dermatologist tell us the biggest mistake many people are making with sunscreen –- aka not wearing it -– and Danica Patrick may want to take note. She says she hardly wears SPF, revealing in a 2023 interview with NewBeauty that a little tinted SPF 15 on the face is the extent of her sunscreen usage. "I actually don't really use much sunscreen—probably because I was always at the racetrack and didn't want to wear it while I was driving," she told the outlet. For those of us who constantly research anti-aging, sunscreen is the number-one preventative thing you can do to minimize signs of aging and prevent skin cancer. So, how does Patrick keep her skin looking so good when she's makeup-free?

She credits microdermabrasion, microneedling, skincare, and a healthy lifestyle for her smooth visage. When she was 20, she began doing regular microdermabrasion to reap its benefits, per her NewBeauty chat. That morphed into microneedling when she signed on as an ambassador for a microneedling device. In terms of skincare, she told Women's Health in January 2024 that she uses the Obagi Nu-Derm Foaming Gel Cleanser morning and night, followed by the iS Clnical Active Serum in the morning and a prescription retinoid at night. She also applies eye cream and is a devotee of face oils for both day and night. Finally, she does red light therapy and exfoliates with the Kate Somerville ExfoliKate Intensive Exfoliating Treatment weekly. Outside of skincare, Patrick is devoted to embracing life in the great outdoors, with fresh air and exercise undoubtedly helping give her skin a lovely glow.
