How Usha Vance Keeps Her Stunning Figure
A lot has changed for Second Lady Usha Vance in the past couple of years. She skyrocketed to a global figure when her husband, JD Vance, became President Donald Trump's running mate and, after the 2024 election, vice president. Since JD took up politics, Usha Vance's style transformation has seen her wearing bolder clothes, including some that show off her figure. She's even like us in some ways — Usha Vance's method for picking out her outfits to wear on the world stage still includes asking her group chat for advice.
But there are other things that haven't changed for this lawyer and mother of three outside of her outfit-selection process. For one, there's a hair transformation that Usha Vance flat-out refuses to undergo — dying her hair to cover her grays or go blond — and from the looks of things, she's kept vigilant with exercise and healthy eating, which are key contributors to how she keeps her stunning figure. Usha, a practicing Hindu, is a vegetarian who often cooks from scratch, and she exercises regularly in a variety of ways, including walking with JD (and wearing disguises to avoid interruption).
Diet and exercise are the keys to Usha Vance's figure
Ivanka Trump keeps her stunning figure by consuming a lot of protein, and 39-year-old Usha Vance is known to follow suit by adding hearty, vegetarian-friendly ingredients like chickpeas to her meals to increase her protein intake. She also cooks many of her vegetable-laden meals from scratch, which means she knows exactly what's going into her meals, rather than eating at restaurants or fast food chains, where hidden unhealthy elements can lurk.
Food isn't Usha's only priority, though. As she revealed to Meghan McCain on her "Citizen McCain" podcast in June 2025, Usha's exercise regimen is all about variety, which has been touted by health practitioners as a great way to avoid workout burnout, while working a variety of muscles to improve overall fitness. When chatting with McCain, Usha listed hiking, rafting, walking, kayaking, and canoeing as activities she and her friends or family might partake in.
She went on to add, "I've been taking a lot of gym classes, which is actually new for me. I never really had any time to do that before, and so now I've been working out a lot more." She does high intensity (HIIT) workouts, as well as pilates, and had recently tried hot yoga, which she called "the sweatiest thing I've ever done." Though Usha told McCain, "I'm just not a natural exerciser," we think it sounds like she is — and has the figure to prove it.
