The Biggest Red Flags We Missed In Lori Loughlin's Marriage
In this instance, life doesn't imitate art: Lori Loughlin, who rose to fame as Uncle Jesse's partner, Becky, on the sitcom "Full House" (and returned for the sequel series, "Fuller House"), is no longer in a happy marriage. Unlike Jesse and Becky, Loughlin and her husband, fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli, appear to be done for good. The couple, married for 28 years, announced their separation in early October 2025, with an unidentified source telling Us Weekly, "They will not reconcile – there is currently no chance – and will ultimately divorce."
The pair seemed to be solid in 2018, with Loughlin telling Entertainment Weekly, "He's my guy, he's my person," and adding that "being flexible" was one of the keys to her successful relationship. However, the following year brought trouble: The couple was part of the famed college admissions scandal of 2019, where parents paid to get their children into prestigious universities. Loughlin and Giannulli both pleaded guilty and served jail time. Lori Loughlin's grown daughters, Isabella Rose and Olivia Jade, have bounced back from the scandal quite well, but it doesn't seem that the same can be said for her and Giannulli.
Overall, it doesn't take an expert to realize there would be red flags waving left and right for the future of this relationship. Sometimes, there are simply signs that it's time to end your relationship, and that time seems like now for this couple.
Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli didn't seem to be spending a lot of time together
One of the signs your relationship is heading toward its end is that you don't spend time together. Spending some time apart can be healthy, but when that time apart is because you're both serving prison sentences, we suspect that comes with a different set of relationship issues to unpack. As we now see, that was just the tip of the iceberg for Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli in the aftermath of the college admissions scandal that turned their lives upside down.
Another red flag we missed is potential simmering resentment and the un-winnable blame game. An insider told the Daily Mail in October 2025 that Giannulli blamed Loughlin for their involvement in the scandal. The insider also said that he felt devastated by the thrashing that his reputation took. His first name has been synonymous with clothing at Target for as long as we can remember, and following the scandal, Target distanced itself from him. Loughlin also lost some of her acting work.
We also checked the Getty, as the now-famous phrase goes, and the couple hadn't been snapped together since 2022, when they were photographed at her "Full House" costar Bob Saget's funeral. For red-carpet appearances between now and then, Loughlin stepped out alone or with costars. Could he have had other obligations? Sure. But it's also plausible that he was sending a message that his public support for his wife had wavered.
