The Strangest Things About Christina Haack & Tarek El Moussa's Post-Divorce Relationship

It's been seven years since Christina Haack and Tarek El Moussa's separation, and somehow, their post-divorce relationship seems to be just as juicy as their marriage. You probably already know the story: Haack and El Moussa married in 2009 and divorced in 2018 amid wild rumors, and both were remarried pretty quickly. You also probably know that while Tarek's second marriage (with Heather Rae El Moussa) has stuck, Haack has since married and divorced Josh Hall. She is currently dating Network Connex CEO and president Christopher Larocca.

Now, we're not judging, especially because Haack doesn't hide that she's grown a lot since her last divorce. But some corners of the internet aren't entirely sold on Haack and El Moussa's happy blended-family image. In particular, a lot of tongues are wagging about how cozy the pair seems, with one of the biggest relationship rumors about Christina Haack being whether she and her ex still have feelings for each other. To balance the rumors out, Glam spoke exclusively to women's life coach and divorce specialist Hope Lutz Firsel to get her professional opinion on the question: Does Haack and El Moussa's post-divorce relationship seem sus? 

"It's not uncommon for divorced partners to continue working together ... however, while it's possible, it's rarely easy," she tells us. In fact, according to Firsel, there are a few key things that the ex-partners must do to be successful. To start, she explains that they should "define the scope of work and communication from the start," as well as "communicate with clarity and kindness," "prioritize mutual respect," and "keep it professional." Have Haack and El Moussa done that?

Typically, divorced people go out of their way to be uninvolved in their ex's lives. Even those who co-parent tend to keep it as minimal as possible, which is why the parallel parenting approach has gotten popular. However, Tarek El Moussa seems to be actively involved in Christina Haack's personal life, not just her work. Speaking to People in October 2025, Haack revealed that El Moussa took the lead on booting out Josh Hall. "Tarek told our attorney and told the network for me that Josh would no longer be a part of the show," she explained, referring to the HGTV series "The Flip Off."

To be fair, the apprehension wasn't one-sided. In December 2024, HGTV posted a snippet of a conversation between Hall and Haack from "The Flip Off" in which he seemed a bit concerned about Haack and El Moussa's relationship. "Remember, you're a Hall now," he said. "Don't get confused in this competition about what your last name is."

The general speculation is that this is all proof that neither El Moussa nor Haack has truly moved on, but our relationship expert isn't so sure. "Working with an ex doesn't automatically prevent someone from moving on — it depends on the emotional boundaries they've both established," Hope Lutz Firsel tells Glam exclusively. "In Christina and Tarek's case, their continued collaboration appears to stem from professionalism and shared responsibilities as co-parents and business partners."

Right from the start of Tarek El Moussa's relationship with Heather Rae El Moussa, the internet was convinced that her resemblance to Christina Haack was further proof that he still had a thing for his ex. And more recently on "The Flip Off," fans were convinced the couple was flirting with each other. "I can't help but notice all of the flirting between Tarek and his ex-wife Christina," one Reddit user posted. "They clearly still have so much chemistry together and Tarek likely has unresolved feelings for Christina."

Another agreed and seemed to think it was a red flag for Tarek and Heather Rae El Moussa's marriage: "It's definitely a little awkward but I'm hoping the flirtation between Tarek and his ex are for TV for [Heather's] sake." A separate post had the same opinion, with a user writing, "Ever since they've divorced, I feel like they're vibing way better – like you can actually see them flirt in the final season of Flip or Flop." Moreover, in response to a December 2024 Instagram post where Haack had her hands in Tarek's hair and was teasing him about it, a fan had this to say: "That's a whole lot of flirting going on between the [exes]."

Whether this is true is purely up to speculation, but one thing that our expert notes is that it takes a great deal of work for a relationship like theirs to be as good as it is. "A post-divorce professional relationship requires a great deal of emotional maturity, self-awareness, and mutual respect," Hope Lutz Firsel tells Glam exclusively. "Tarek and Christina's dynamic is a good example of what's possible when two people prioritize respect and shared purpose over past pain."
