In April 2025, an insider told Closer that Sedgwick and Bacon "always talk things out as soon as they happen, they're both very emotionally intelligent and they've also taken a lot of self-development courses together." The source also said that the couple have attended couples counseling, which has helped them strengthen their relationship. The longtime couple have made it clear that they're each willing to put in the time and dedication it takes for a marriage to feel healthy and strong. 

Sedgwick and Bacon also don't tend to mix business with pleasure despite working in the same industry. The couple have barely shared the screen together over the years, but their romance actually began on a movie set when they were filming the movie "Lemon Sky" in 1987. Their courtship was pretty adorable, as Bacon would invite the film's entire cast and crew out to dinner, hoping that Sedgwick would join. Sedgwick resisted at first, but it only took one year before the two were engaged.
