Cheryl Hines' Inappropriate Outfit At 2022 Emmys After-Party Looked Like Dated Beachwear

Cheryl Hines' marriage to RFK Jr. has a lot of glaring red flags, but it's her outfits that we can't stop talking about. Celebs have worn some of the most inappropriate outfits over the years, and the "Suburgatory" star has joined the ranks. On September 13, 2022, Hines shared a shot of her Emmys after-party look from the previous night, which consisted of a long gown with blue sequins and a super-low V-neck with strappy accents. While the post-Emmys bash was a lot more casual than the main event, Hines' outfit was more suited to an evening beach party. In addition to looking dated, the top portion of the dress resembled more of a bathing suit than a black-tie dress, and the ensemble particularly stood out among other stars who rocked more formal garb.

While we don't think women should restrict their clothing due to their age, Hines continues to make dress mistakes that make her look older. Take the '90s-inspired slip dress she wore to the premiere of "Prowl" in Italy, which she posted on Instagram the day after. The floral pattern and the lace detailing at the bust looked super dated, and a more modern style would have suited Hines, who was in her late 50s at the time, much better. It seems Hines loves wearing controversial outfits, and these weren't the only instances the actor's dress choices put the spotlight on her for all the wrong reasons.

Cheryl Hines will never live down her 2006 Emmys dress, either

Cheryl Hines tends to be underdressed or adorned with tacky-looking rhinestones, and it was the latter for her at the 2006 Emmy Awards. There, she wore a bright-violet satin gown with a mesh back with a large, gaudy design made with a dizzying amount of colorful jewels. As if that wasn't enough to blind onlookers, Hines accessorized with a pair of bright-pink drop earrings that fought for attention. Suffice it to say, the "Curb Your Enthusiasm" star's whole look was pretty, pretty, pretty bad, as Larry David would say.

Years later, the dress still haunts Hines, and she told People in 2020, "One year for the Emmys, I wore a Georges Chakra dress. Somehow, I was on the worst and the best-dressed list. It had flesh-colored netting on the back with beads." She added, "It reminded some people of an ice-skating costume. They had strong feelings about it." Hey, if Hines ever wanted to compete on the rink, she could just cut the bottom off and repurpose the gown into a leotard. Recycling clothes is good for the environment and wallet alike, after all.
