Rosalía's Most Inappropriate Outfits So Far

Rosalía has been shaking up the music industry since debuting her album "Los Ángeles" in 2017, but she's not just known for her award-winning bops. The native Spanish singer and songwriter is bold when it comes to her looks, and often steps out in avant-garde, whimsical creations that fashionistas would die for. Ranging from enviable couture to simply bizarre, Rosalía pushes the sartorial envelope a bit too far sometimes, so that it actually borders on inappropriate.

The "Malamente" singer is already making a name for herself in the fashion world and has teamed up with Dior and Calvin Klein as the face for their campaigns. It's clear that, along with making music, clothing is Rosalía's other passion, but she doesn't always get it right. When asked by Highsnobiety how she would describe her past style, she replied, "I'd use the term 'choni,' which, according to Webster's, means an attempt to look elegant, but it mostly ends up looking tacky." It seems the Grammy winner is still finding her footing when it comes to her 'fits, and unfortunately, several of her looks have left us wondering what she was thinking.

As a hit musician, Rosalía naturally gets invited to A-list events, including the 2019 "Lion King" premiere in London, England, and someone decided it was okay for her to show up in a black latex bodysuit for a children's movie. Even Rosalía admitted the 'fit was inappropriate, and years later she told Vogue Spain, "You learn from these things. You learn. Of course, this won't happen again. The combination is terrible. The context was not the right one. Overall, it was a huge fail." This was definitely not the best way to wear a trendy latex look.

Fashion is all about making a statement, but Rosalía made the wrong one when she stepped out in a white jacket in April 2024. The piece featured long arms with slits for the hands to peek out, along with multiple leather buckles to make the outerwear appear like a straitjacket. Worn over a long white dress that resembled a hospital gown, Rosalía looked like a patient in a mental ward, which is never okay to cosplay. Straitjackets are now deemed inhumane, and introducing them again as a fashion piece is not only inappropriate, but tasteless as well.

The tank dress is the easiest summer uniform that's super easy to style and always looks good — if worn in the right season, that is. Curiously, Rosalía chose to wear hers in October 2025 during Paris Fashion Week, and it was an all-white shade, breaking the "no white after Labor Day" rule. One would think someone who loves fashion would step it up for the weeklong designer presentations. However, Rosalía dropped the ball with her plain white tank dress that would have been lackluster in any season, even if she had a giant bird on her head.

Rosalía took the sheer trend to a new level during the Billboard Women in Music Awards in 2023. The "Pienso En Tu Mirá" singer arrived wearing a bedazzled black see-through dress that left very little to the imagination. Her underboobs were on full display with a very cropped black turtleneck, and she made sure to cover up her bottom by wearing black briefs. While many celebs wore sheer 'fits, Rosalía's was one of the most revealing, and we're not surprised that the sheer trend got less racy for 2024.

Rosalía absolutely smashed it at the 2022 Latin Grammy Awards with four wins for her album "Motomami." Wearing a sparkly gold dress, she looked just like the gramophones she held up as she posed on the red carpet, and she looked gorgeous from head to calf. Sadly, Rosalía's feet were where her look went wrong, as they were clad in chunky black platform shoes. The footwear was way too casual for such a prestigious event and dress, completely clashing with an ambiance that needed something elegant, like a pair of nude peep-toe heels. 

Rosalía looked gorgeous and ethereal in the sheer blue dress she wore to the 2021 Los40 Music Awards. From the thin '90s spaghetti straps to the butterflies perched daintily on her bodice, the overall look would have been perfect without one detail — the electric blue briefs she wore under the gauzy gown. Instead of it being a quiet undergarment, the bright color popped out, making Rosalía look like she was at a beachside resort, rather than a prestigious awards show. Perhaps next time she goes for the sheer trend, she should pick a dress that doesn't look like a swimsuit cover-up.
