Kristen Bell's Inappropriate Outfit For Good Morning America Had Heads Turning

We can just imagine Kristen Bell as a pre-teen listening to Madonna's 1989 hit "Express Yourself" and grooving to the idea of expressing herself how she wants to. As an adult, she has. For example, for her 2013 wedding to Dax Shepard, she followed in the footsteps of celebrities who didn't wear a white wedding dress, opting for black pants and a top instead. So, when she arrives for an appearance, it shouldn't surprise onlookers that her fashion choices might be unexpected. Or, on occasion, inappropriate.
Unfortunately, when the "Frozen" star showed up at "Good Morning America" in September 2024 to promote her hit show "Nobody Wants This," she missed the appropriateness mark in a sheer shirt and skirt from The Frankie Shop. The look, which left little to the imagination as you could see her white bra and underwear underneath, felt like a grab for attention and not what you'd wear for a family-friendly morning show. One of the styling mistakes to avoid when wearing sheer is to keep your audience in mind, but Bell and her stylist, Nicole Chavez, did not.
Kristen Bell has had other morning show offenses
That wasn't the only time Kristen Bell missed the mark, as she landed on our list of worst-dressed celebs at the 2025 SAG awards. But it also wasn't the only time Bell had heads turning at "Good Morning America" specifically. On two other occasions, she had critics questioning her 'fits. Again in September 2024 as she departed the morning show, Bell had changed into a blue Philosophy ensemble that featured an A-line skirt and a sheer top with a coordinating bra beneath. Appropriate for doing promo rounds in the a.m.? Perhaps not.
At least in June 2022 when she made an appearance at GMA, this time promoting her children's book, "The World Needs More Purple People," she covered her assets more tastefully in a plaid top and matching pants. But this look doesn't really cry out "glamorous Hollywood starlet." Again, we are all for expressing oneself through fashion, but you have to take into account the venue. This multi-colored plaid outfit by Stine Goya was playful and fun, making it something we'd definitely consider for a family picnic or Sunday brunch. But for promo? Not so much.
