The Ladies From Firefly Are Still Gorgeous Today

There are so many different types of shows to watch on TV nowadays, and lots of iconic series have found success that has lasted decades. But occasionally, there is a diamond in the rough that goes unnoticed despite its unique storytelling and unparalleled quality. These types of shows become known as "cult classics" where fans may be few but are unwavering in their loyalty. An example of this is the 2002 futuristic show "Firefly" which didn't air for long on TV but managed to gather a lasting fanbase. Many still consider it to be a comfort show (by the way, we got a psychologist to explain why we find our comfort shows and movies so soothing).

"Firefly" combined elements of Western, science-fiction, action, and drama. A mere 14 episodes were made as the short-lived space series only lasted one season. It did lead to a movie continuation with the 2005 film "Serenity" seeing the characters return. Today, the show is considered ahead of its time and fan conventions are still celebrating the series more than 20 years later. It had an impressive ensemble cast with the ship's leading ladies cementing themselves as beloved characters. And the actors that starred on the show have gone on to have impressive careers, appearing in successful projects and becoming regulars at conventions by sitting on panels to connect with dedicated fans. While the show's leading ladies, including Gina Torres as Zoë Alleyne Washburne and Morena Baccarin as Inara Serra, have changed over the years, they're still as gorgeous as ever.

The gorgeous Gina Torres found success in dramatic shows

Actor Gina Torres played the fierce Mrs. Zoë Alleyne Washburne on "Firefly." Her character took care of business during her time on the Serenity ship, and Torres continued to play unapologetically strong women in a number of television series and movies after the show came to an end. She played the role of Jessica Pearson in the legal drama "Suits" and continued to play the character in her own spin-off. The political drama series "Pearson" only lasted one season, similar to Torres' run on "Firefly." In 2021, she joined the cast of "9-1-1: Lone Star" and remained on the show until its cancellation in 2025. Despite being more than 20 years older than when we saw her in "Firefly," Torres hardly looks like she's aged a day. In particular, her flawless skin gives her a youthful glow.

The actor has had run-ins with a lot of big names. For example, she was married to actor Laurence Fishburne from 2002 until 2018 and the two share a daughter together. Torres also was in the presence of a future royal when she starred alongside Meghan Markle in "Suits." It seems like the two share similar fitness routines, as Torres told Health in 2019 that she loves to work out, much like how Meghan Markle keeps her figure. "I like to do it in the morning, get it over with, even if it means I have to get up a little earlier," she explained.

Morena Baccarin has become a big name in Hollywood

Morena Baccarin rose to fame as Inara Serra on "Firefly." And she has been working regularly since the series ended, becoming one of the most recognizable faces from the show. Morena Baccarin has made a complete transformation from starting out in Hollywood in the early 2000s. She has taken on many roles but is best known for playing the love interest of Deadpool in the Ryan Reynolds-helmed superhero franchise. On television, she starred in the Showtime drama "Homeland" and currently plays the main role in "Sheriff Country" on CBS. These days, she seems to prefer a cropped bob cut, but she's still as stunning as she was as Inara.

Baccarin is currently married to "The O.C." co-star Ben McKenzie. They connected again while they were both filming the series "Gotham" and tied the knot in 2017. The lines between life and art were blurred as the two started dating on the show not long after they were confirmed to be a couple in real life. Baccarin shares two children with McKenzie, a daughter and a son, and she also has an older son from a previous marriage.

Jewel Staite still appears in sci-fi projects, and is still stunning

Canadian actor Jewel Staite has been working in the industry since she was a kid. Back in the '90s, she played a main character on the Disney Channel show "Flash Forward." On "Firefly," Staite was cast as redheaded Kaylee Frye, the ship's mechanic who was known for her warm heart and optimism. After the show concluded, Staite went on to guest star in multiple television series including ones that continued her experience in the intergalactic sci-fi genre like "Stargate: Atlantis." Another star who no doubt has an amazing skincare routine, Staite remains as beautiful as ever all these years later.

She has appeared in several series, including "The Killing," "Blindspot," and "The Magicians." In particular, Staite has shown up on The CW network multiple times, first by starring in the one-season drama "The L.A. Complex." Staite is currently starring in The CW's "Family Law" which is in its fourth season. When she is not working, the actor lives a quiet life with her husband, son, and many pets.

Summer Glau often has grown up, but still has her youthful energy

On "Firefly," Summer Glau played young River Tam who had a brain like no other. The character's dark past gave her the ability to read minds, in turn making her paranoid and occasionally violent. When the series ended, Glau continued her streak of playing complex gals that were ready for battle in action-packed shows. She starred in "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" inspired by the legendary film franchise.

Glau had a recurring role on "Arrow" and made guest appearances in a number of popular shows including "Grey's Anatomy" and even "The Big Bang Theory." She most recently voiced a main role in the podcast series "Ctrl-Alt-Destroy" but does not appear to have worked on screen since then. Other than appearing at fan conventions, Glau seems to be focused on her life at home. She is currently married to actor Val Morrison and the couple have two daughters together. Though she's not a teen anymore, Glau still has that radiant youthful energy about her and remains gorgeous to this day.
