Ruthie From 7th Heaven Is Nearly Unrecognizable Today

Those who were around in the '90s and early aughts probably recall the hit series "7th Heaven." The family-friendly show, centered around the Camden family, aired weekly for 11 seasons, which meant watching Ruthie, the youngest of the brood, grow up right before our eyes. Mackenzie Rosman was just 6 years old when the first season of "7th Heaven" aired in 1996, and she still had that same youthful appearance when her character entered her teenage years. In a 2003 interview with The WB, Rosman shared (via YouTube), "Well, the cast is a little different. And Ruthie's growing up. She's starting high school this year, so that's very exciting."

By the time "7th Heaven" ended in 2007, Rosman was almost an adult. She continued to act, but never lost touch with her former castmates. "I keep in contact with mostly everyone. We've all gone our separate ways, living our lives, and it's been a while now, so we have a lot of our own things going on, but we keep tabs on each other just like family or old friends would," she told Too Fab in 2015. Rosman looked gorgeous with her Tumblr twee blunt bangs (which came back in 2023) and straightened hair, which was a far cry from Ruthie's springy curls. It seems life has come full circle, and while Rosman is nearly unrecognizable today, she has a daughter of her own who looks just like her younger self.

Mackenzie Rosman has an adorable mini-me daughter

It seems not too long ago that Mackenzie Rosman was playing a young kid, and now she's a mom of one. It's unclear if she's married, but in August 2021, she shared an Instagram snap with her partner and wrote, "An outing with my man of mystery. Taken about a month ago at a lovely wedding that I ate too much at." Seven months later, Rosman surprised fans by posting a picture of herself on a horse with the caption, "#37weeks." The following May, she posed with her infant daughter, who shares her mom's gorgeous brown peepers, which happens to be the most common eye color.

Rosman celebrated her daughter's second birthday in March 2024, and it was apparent that the young toddler had inherited her mother's naturally curly hair. The proud mom gushed on Instagram, "I could write a novel on what this little muffin means to me, but I'll keep it brief-ish. Her smile is infectious, her fervor for books is unmatched, her dance skills are impressive, her vocabulary is tremendous, her taste for arugula surprising, and her love for animals melts my heart." She concluded, "Ophelia Katelyn AKA Beezy, you are my world!"

As she's seen standing over her daughter in front of her birthday cake, Rosman looked fresh-faced without makeup, and we could easily see her play a grown-up Ruthie as a mom in a revival of "7th Heaven." Although there likely won't be one, it's always fun to reminisce about the show, and Rosman gave fans a treat when she and her former castmates launched a podcast together in which they revisit past episodes.

Mackenzie Rosman is still tight with her 7th Heaven family

"7th Heaven" was such a beloved show that Mackenzie Rosman is still recognized for it even after all these years. Although she hasn't been in an acting role since 2015, fans can see her on the podcast, "Catching up with the Camdens," alongside her TV family, Beverley Mitchell and David Gallagher. "Day 1 in the can!! Soooo excited to be filming our podcast Catching Up With the Camdens! We are trying our hardest to keep our laughter under control, but it's tough going with this bunch," Rosman posted in April 2024. Fans loved the mini-reunion, and they got to see an even bigger one when Jessica Biel joined them via video in March 2025. The previous November, the Camden matriarch portrayer Catherine Hicks came on the podcast to look back on their time filming together.

Lucky fans got to see the "7th Heaven" actors together again, minus Biel and Stephen Collins, at the 90s Con in Daytona Beach, Florida, in September 2024. The group hilariously wore green T-shirts featuring Hicks' face, referring to an iconic episode from Season 2. It's heartening to see how the show has lived on through the cast, and in our perfect world, the Camden family would grace the television screens again.
