4 Celebrity Couples Most Likely To Split In 2026

The age-old cliché says that Hollywood marriages never last and any romance between two stars is bound to end badly. It's not terribly hard to see why, either. The pressures of living in the public eye combined with constant traveling can surely take a toll on any partnership. Plus, the numerous celebrity marriages that failed to last even one full year certainly don't help this narrative.

Some couples have seemed to be solid only to shock the world with a separation announcement. Sadly, 2025 saw a number of unexpected breakups, including Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban. Of course, Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom also ended their marriage, while Nina Dobrev and Shaun White called off their engagement. Now, there are a handful of Hollywood couples that may suffer the same fate in the year ahead. Certain celeb pairings, from Hollywood to Washington, have been giving off signs that it may be time to end their relationship, so these are the four star-studded couples that we don't expect to last through 2026.

Kelsea Ballerini and Chase Stokes' drama-filled 2025 may stunt their 2026

Our heads are still spinning from the drama this couple went through just in the last few weeks of 2025 alone, but let's start from the beginning. After country singer Kelsea Ballerini divorced Australian crooner Morgan Evans in 2022, it looked like she'd finally found her soulmate when she began dating "Outer Banks" actor Chase Stokes. They started off 2023 by getting cozy and appeared to be smitten by the time they made their first red carpet appearance together at the CMT Music Awards. The couple seemed to remain head over heels for each other until mid-2025, when rumors swirled that there was trouble in paradise. What followed was weeks of bizarre, contradicting statements and actions that are nearly impossible to decipher.

Rumors of Stokes cheating led to the actor posting a sweet message on Instagram to commemorate Ballerini's birthday in September 2025. Just days later, the couple shockingly announced that they had broken up. They appeared to reconcile in November 2025, only for Stokes to post a number of cryptic social media posts online pertaining to his relationship status. It sounded like the couple was done for good until Stokes posted pics of them locking lips on New Year's Eve. The back and forth between Ballerini and Stokes is exhausting to keep up with, so we can't imagine how chaotic it must be for the two involved. Ultimately, these stars need to leave petty drama behind. There's no way this emotional rollercoaster can last much longer before it comes crashing down.

Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake may have too much weighing on their marriage

Actor Jessica Biel and singer Justin Timberlake are the longest-lasting couple on our list, but we're not convinced that they have what it takes to last forever. Our relationship expert noticed red flags in Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel's marriage that only seem to be getting worse. The pair started dating in 2007 and were together until spring 2011, when they decided to part ways. They reconciled later that year, and it wasn't long before they were engaged. Biel and Timberlake tied the knot in October 2012 and have welcomed two sons together. However, the last few years have presented a lot of challenges for the relationship, mostly relating to Timberlake and what seems to be a difficult time for him personally. His arrest in 2024 was followed by rumors of cheating and criticism from attendees of his tour.

Biel hasn't commented publicly on her husband's struggles and instead seems to be fiercely loyal to him. It begs the question: How many times can Timberlake allegedly mess up before his marriage takes its final blow? His actions have hindered his reputation and have likely put immense pressure on his marriage as well. Biel not only has herself to think about, but also her children. The anonymous pop culture whisperer Deuxmoi reported in December 2025 that tensions have been high between Biel and Timberlake, and we wouldn't be surprised if this was the final nail in their relationship's coffin.

Ariana Grande and Ethan Slater's messy start is bound to catch up to them

As an A-list singer and now Oscar-nominated actor, Ariana Grande's personal life has been of interest to the media for years, but it's her current relationship with "Wicked" co-star Ethan Slater that's become a scandal all its own. The pair met while filming the two "Wicked" movies in 2023. When filming began, Grande was still married to Dalton Gomez, and Slater had just welcomed a son with his wife of five years, Lilly Jay. In July 2023, news broke that Grande and Gomez were headed toward divorce, and not even one week later, TMZ reported that Grande had already moved on by starting a relationship with Slater. Both parties insisted that they were separated from their respective spouses before starting their romance, although Jay didn't seem to agree. "[Ariana's] the story, really. Not a girl's girl," she told Page Six at the time. "My family is just collateral damage."

It was speculated that the couple was determined to seem picture-perfect while promoting both "Wicked" films in 2024 and 2025, and there were even rumors that the two had quietly parted ways. Now that the sequel, "Wicked: For Good," is out and the press tour is over, the couple have no professional reason to maintain a united front. The "Yes, And?" singer has started to pivot from her movie persona, with Ariana Grande even ditching Glinda pink in favor of a hot fall 2025 trend at the VMAs last year (black-and-white polka dots). Sources maintain that the couple is happy, but only time will tell if their relationship stands a chance now that their time in Oz has ended.

Will Marjorie Taylor Greene actually make it down the aisle?

Hollywood couples aren't the only relationships that can be tested — Washington romances also see their fair share of breakups. Enter Marjorie Taylor Greene, who tends to gravitate toward drama in her professional life. Could her personal life be destined for the same fate? The last year saw a lot of changes for Greene. She announced her resignation from Congress, and a month later, confessed that she was engaged to reporter Brian Glenn. The couple confirmed they were dating in 2023, just a few months after Greene's divorce from her ex-husband, Perry Greene. To some, this may seem like she rushed into her new relationship.

Greene has also made a distinct shift in her political views, previously being a fierce advocate for President Donald Trump and now distancing herself from him. Glenn has proven to be a pro-Trump figure much like Greene was when they first connected. Could her pivot in ideology have come as a shock to her fiance and ultimately driven a wedge between them? Can a couple that bonded over political views survive when one changes their beliefs? We'll have to sit back and see what happens once the dust settles, especially because it's not uncommon for couples to struggle when one faces a big change in their career.
