The Worst-Dressed Celebs At The 2026 Golden Globes

The year has barely begun, but the glamour of awards season is in full swing! The 2026 Golden Globes arrived on Sunday, January 11, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel — just one week after we saw the worst-dressed celebs at the 2026 Critics Choice Awards display pretty poor taste. Comedian Nikki Glaser hosted for the second year in a row and set the tone for an overall fun night of celebration. Of course, before the show kicked off, stars of the big and small screens alike let their fashion take center stage on the red carpet, but many unfortunately underdelivered.

One of the more surprising observations of the night was that so many stars decided not to take a risk with their wardrobe and instead rejected color, opting for all-black outfits. Some celebs did still push the envelope, with stars like Jennifer Lawrence looking ravishing in sheer, colorful, or playful ensembles. Still, others tried to push the envelope but ended up looking like a sore thumb, ultimately landing on our worst-dressed list for looking awkward or being overwhelmed by their clothing. We appreciate outfits that don't play it safe, but these ensembles from Ginnifer Goodwin, Zoey Deutch, Jenna Ortega, and more went far too in the wrong direction.

Ginnifer Goodwin's candy-coded Golden Globes dress was a mess

Let this serve as proof that adding pearls to an outfit doesn't automatically make it elegant. "Zootopia 2" actor Ginnifer Goodwin's dress was a sad and drab chocolate color that was too light for her darker hair and eye colors, leaving it looking bland and washed out. The gown looked more like a light molasses as it fell on her body, dragging her posture down. Sadly, the random pearls glued to the dress made it look cheap, too. A true bummer!

Brittany Snow cosplayed as a light bulb at the 2026 Golden Globes

As gorgeous as Brittany Snow is, she's not immune to an ugly dress choice. This gown looked like an upside-down calla lily but didn't give Snow the vibes of a dainty nymph. The oversized bottom made the entire garment feel unbalanced, not to mention bizarre. Most of the material gave off the appearance of a massive paper towel that was wrapped around Snow's figure, and the giant bulb at the bottom looked like it was constructed from loose coffee filters. With some extra shape, this could've been a win.

Jenna Ortega's dark and robotic dressing lost us this time

"Wednesday" star Jenna Ortega has established herself as a face of edgy style, but it's becoming too much, as she's rarely seen in any color other than stark black. Case in point, her Golden Globes outfit was all over the place, proving that it's time for a change. The fringe also felt silly when paired with full side cutouts. Ortega would benefit from mixing up her style with our tips for infusing more color into your wardrobe. Even some sparkle or layered fabric would add more liveliness to her looks.

Aimee Lou Wood didn't dress her age at the Golden Globes

Fresh off of "The White Lotus," Aimee Lou Wood looked so uncomfortable in her bulky dress, and watching her walk down the carpet in this old-fashioned hoop skirt was equally uncomfortable for us. Wood was bombarded by fabric, and a lackluster one at that. The dark floral pattern on top aged Wood and made her look frumpy, and what was going on with those asymmetrical cap sleeves? So many dress mistakes made her look older here, and we hope that she embraces more youthful dressing moving forward.

Leighton Meester's dress had too much going on

Leighton Meester's many years as a fashionista on "Gossip Girl" unfortunately didn't help her at the 2026 Golden Globes. Perhaps she was trying to celebrate the ceremony's namesake color with a gold sash around her neckline, but it looked more like a dingy yellow instead. The rest of her densely textured dress was heavy on the eyes with its overwhelming glitter. Leighton Meester called back to her unrecognizable natural hair color by letting her ombré tips take the spotlight, which ended up being the only redeeming quality of this topsy-turvy gown.

Zoey Deutch drowned in her black-and-white monstrosity

Perhaps Zoey Deutch's recent engagement made her think about possible wedding dresses, but her Golden Globes gown gave "Corpse Bride" vibes with an unusual black-and-white combination. Not only did the gown look more like a worn-out smock, but the black beading in the middle also felt sloppy. The real tragedy of this gown was the top, which wasn't fitted to Deutch's chest well and undermined her fit stature. This beauty deserved more than the illusion of a sheet thrown over her.
