Karoline Leavitt Is Nearly Unrecognizable In Pics Before Mar-A-Lago Face Transformation

Karoline Leavitt looked like a different person before she joined President Donald Trump's administration. When we look at a photo of her from 2021, it's impossible to ignore that her face has undergone quite the transformation. Let's get the most obvious change out of the way, shall we? Her lips seem to be noticeably thinner when compared to photos that were taken after she became a public figure. At some point along the way, Leavitt seems to have fallen prey to the infamous Republican makeup trend and traded her more natural-looking eyebrows for dark, overdrawn ones and resorted to laying her mascara on in thick clumps.

Moreover, the foundation that Leavitt used in the throwback photo seemed to give her a more natural, skin-like look. However, when she made it to the White House, she probably decided that it was best to opt for a foundation with an orange undertone to show her loyalty to the commander-in-chief. By 2025, she was also dangerously close to becoming one of the worst offenders of the "Republican hair" trend with her wavy blond locks. To find out whether Karoline Leavitt embraced the "Mar-a-Lago face" trend, we chatted with a plastic surgeon.

Exclusively speaking with Glam, board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Niccole professed that Leavitt may have had some cosmetic work done. To start, the expert believes that the White House Press Secretary likely had a "lip augmentation." However, he also noticed several other telltale signs that the MAGA woman had undergone additional work.

Karoline Leavitt's lips became the talk of the town in 2025

After looking at before-and-after photos of Karoline Leavitt from 2015 and 2025, Dr. Michael Niccole told Glam, "It also looks like she's had refinement on her nose. Additionally, I believe she's had some fat transfer or filler in her chin and jawline." He believes that Leavitt may have achieved a well-defined jawline with some cosmetic work as well. However, he ultimately didn't believe that Leavitt was one of the worst offenders of "the Mar-a-Lago face" trend, as he explained, "Her facial features look refined, not exaggerated."

While many of the more obvious cases of the infamous trend constantly earn online criticism, Leavitt's transformation only started making rounds online when Vanity Fair published an extreme close-up of her face in December 2025 that showed apparent lip filler injection marks. Unlike most prominent Republican women, Leavitt didn't just let the chatter slide. As New Year's Eve rolled around, her hairdresser shared an Instagram Story featuring a photo getting all dolled up, and wrote, "Hey [Vanity Fair] this is unfiltered + unedited .. Natural w/no makeup & beautiful as can be" (via MSN).

Leavitt then reposted the Story in an apparent attempt to give the haters the ultimate middle finger. However, she did so under the guise of thanking her hairdresser for giving her hair a bit of a makeover before the new year. At the end of the day, though, it's not just Leavitt's face that has transformed. Ever since she became a public figure, Karoline Leavitt started wearing clothes that made her look so much older, a stark contrast from her tightly fitted outfits of the past.
