Marjorie Taylor Greene Has Fallen Victim To Some Major Makeup Missteps
The women of the GOP aren't exactly known for their expert makeup applications, and it certainly doesn't help that many of them have been outed as repeat offenders of "Mar-a-Lago face." MAGA women like Kimberly Guilfoyle and those still in the Trump family have often been caught making huge makeup mistakes, which can happen when you overdo it with the bronzer and eyeliner. And then, on the other end of the spectrum is the former U.S. Representative for Georgia's 14th Congressional District, who does the least when it comes to her beauty routine. Aside from Marjorie Taylor Greene being caught in several inappropriate outfits throughout her career, she has had some makeup flubs that, as a professional makeup artist with over a decade of experience, I simply cannot overlook.
It seems like Greene's go-to look is a swipe of black eyeliner, laid on pretty thickly. She usually keeps her makeup minimal, with not a whisper of blush or lip color. And, the times she does do her face, the mistakes are so glaringly obvious. MTG may be good at a lot of things, but a makeup aficionado she is clearly not.
Marjorie Taylor Greene's foundation was way too light for her skin tone
Just like many of her Republican cohorts, Marjorie Taylor Greene loves to look tanned, and judging by her bronzed and freckled chest, it seems she loves to spend time outdoors. Unfortunately, an Instagram selfie shared in January 2025 showed that she failed to match her foundation to the rest of her body, as her face appeared several shades lighter, resulting in a mask-like appearance. The fact that Greene's face was devoid of any color didn't help matters much, and just a touch of blush would have livened up her look.
The case of the disappearing eyebrows
Makeup artists know that eyebrows are one of the most important features on a face, and the finished look just won't be complete if they're not filled in. Case in point: Marjorie Taylor Greene's hastily put-together makeup at the Republican National Convention in July 2024. As always, her eyes were lined in black, and it looked like she swiped on some neutral eyeshadow. However, she appeared to have forgotten about her brows, and one even looked like it was completely disappearing from her forehead. A quick dab of powder would have gone a long way in filling those sparse areas.
Marjorie Taylor Greene's more-is-more approach to makeup
Marjorie Taylor Greene just can't find a happy medium when it comes to her makeup. When she does decide to commit to a full face of product, it's clear she doesn't hold back. The right-wing politician went for a smokey eye at the July 15 leg of the 2024 Republican National Convention, but she didn't stop there. Greene added stripes of heavy peach blush to her cheeks, along with shiny red lip gloss. Combined with the inappropriate outfit Greene was caught wearing, the whole look was a disaster.
Marjorie Taylor Greene's off-white dress had more life than her face
In June 2024, Marjorie Taylor Greene decided on all-beige everything, and that included her face. With her cream-colored dress, wheat-blond hair, and just a touch of foundation and eyeliner, Greene looked as bland as vanilla ice cream that day. Some rosy blush and lipstick would have added much-needed color to her look, as well as a touch of eyeshadow. A shimmery gold shade would bring her blue eyes out even more and make them appear brighter. Perhaps she should get into the habit of carrying a small tube of gloss, just for photo ops.
Marjorie Taylor Greene's attempt at a daytime smokey eye fell flat
Marjorie Taylor Greene wasn't always so minimal when it came to her makeup, and in November 2021, she attempted a subtle smokey-eye look, but all her mistakes were caught in 4K. The shimmery gray shadow creased unflatteringly on her lids, and it appeared streaky and uneven. Perhaps it was the end of the day, and her makeup was on its last legs, but a primer would have made her shadow hold up for longer. Greene's eyeliner also looked like it was ready to quit, and you could clearly see it struggling to hold on for dear life on her lower lids. A Q-tip was never needed more than it was here.
Marjorie Taylor Greene's frosted lipstick is so outdated
Frosted lipstick was huge in the '90s and Y2K era, and it seems Marjorie Taylor Greene tried to bring it back in 2023. There was a resurgence of shimmery lips that year, and thankfully, it was brief, but not without Greene hopping on the trend. With her cool undertone, it was a mistake choosing an equally cool brown shade, which ended up washing out her features. Add in the frosted finish, and Greene's face looked lifeless. Even if she's all about neutrals, a pop of pink or peach would read so much better on camera.
