The Strangest Things About Nicola Peltz And Brooklyn Beckham's Marriage

After months of speculation about drama within the Beckham family, Brooklyn Beckham's January 2026 Instagram Stories calling out his parents have spilled more tea than most of us imagined. Amongst other things, Brooklyn accused his family of being controlling, hating his wife for no reason, and trying to tear them apart. He even claimed that his mother Victoria Beckham "danced very inappropriately" on him at their wedding, per NBC News.

To catch you up, Brooklyn and Nicola Peltz started dating in 2019, got engaged in 2020, and tied the knot in 2022. Shortly after, rumors emerged that the union turned out to be one of the celebrity weddings that was almost derailed by awkward moments. The rumors claimed that Victoria and David Beckham weren't too keen on the newest addition to the family and that Victoria had tried to upstage Nicola. However, with no official comment from either party, there wasn't much to go by ... until August 2025, when Brooklyn and Nicola renewed their vows. Nicola's billionaire parents Nelson and Claudia Peltz attended the wedding, but none of the Beckhams were invited.

The rumors understandably intensified and only became wilder in December 2025, when Brooklyn's younger brother Cruz Beckham claimed in an Instagram Story that Brooklyn had blocked him and the rest of their family with no warning, per People. Neither Brooklyn nor Nicola publicly responded to Cruz or any of the rumors until his bombshell post on January 19, 2026. As expected, the internet is split between Brooklyn/Nicola fans and David/Victoria fans. But besides the split in opinions, there's one thing everyone can agree on: Some things about Nicola Peltz and Brooklyn Beckham's marriage are pretty strange, from excessive tattoos to previous abuse allegations.

Nicola Peltz was previously accused of abuse and partner alienation

One of the greatest reasons that a part of the internet is siding with David and Victoria Beckham is that Nicola Peltz, who is four years older than Brooklyn Beckham, has been accused of abuse previously. In 2009, the blog Gawker posted claims that Nicola Peltz (who was 14 at the time) relentlessly bullied her nannies, butlers, and other staff who worked for her family (via Daily Mail). There were even claims that she pushed one nanny down the stairs and made others suicidal.

While serious, none of these rumors was ever confirmed, and in 2022, the Daily Mail published a piece highlighting the voices of family members of the nanny who was allegedly pushed. They claimed that Nicola had never treated anyone badly, with the nanny's nephew Helio Nelo stating that "the relationship was amazing." However, this did little to sway public opinion, with commenters on the article speculating that the family may have paid for the interview. Beyond the nanny, there were also rumors that Nicola isolated a previous boyfriend, Anwar Hadid, during their relationship. Anwar, the brother of the Hadid sisters, was 17 years old and younger than 22-year-old Nicola during their relationship. However, like the other rumors, there is no proof that the isolation aspect is true, either.

Nonetheless, a decent part of the internet seems to believe that there is rarely smoke without fire and that Nicola isn't innocent. This could be disturbing for Nicola and Brooklyn Beckham's marriage, especially considering what he posted about his parents being controlling.

Brooklyn Beckham has over 70 tattoos dedicated to Nicola Peltz

As you probably already know, Brooklyn Beckham is heavily tattooed. But did you know that over 70 of those tattoos are of or related to Nicola Peltz? While there's nothing wrong with getting romantic ink, it does make you wonder. There's a huge difference between being devoted to your partner and getting 70 different tattoos of them on your body. Among the tattoos are his vows, the word "married," her grandmother's name, and, of course, Nicola's face. Nicola, for her part, does have a tattoo of Brooklyn's name on her back, but it's obviously nothing compared to the sheer amount of ink that Brooklyn has.

One interesting fact is that getting a couple's tattoo could reveal a bit about attachment styles. Psychologist Dr. Raffaello Antonino told PopSugar that people with anxious attachment styles might view tattoos as a way to ease their fear of being abandoned or betrayed, which is "potentially harmful." Now, to be fair, we can't diagnose Brooklyn with this attachment style based on the tattoos alone, but 70 tattoos seems a bit obsessive, insecure, and intense.

The couple moved too fast, and Brooklyn Beckham was still young

One strange thing about Nicola Peltz and Brooklyn Beckham's marriage is how quickly everything moved. When they got together in 2019, he was 20, and she was 24. Two days later, they had their first kiss. They became Instagram official three months later, and six months after that, they got engaged. By the time of their engagement, Brooklyn was only 21 years old, compared to Nicola, who was 25.

In the real world, a four-year age gap is pretty negligible, but in this case, it does raise a few eyebrows. According to Brooklyn, he never felt at peace at home growing up. This, added to his age, makes us wonder if he was mentally and emotionally mature enough to be committed to a woman who was four years older. Brooklyn also insinuated that marrying Nicola gave him the courage to leave an environment he was unhappy with, but marrying to escape one's family almost never turns out well.

Additionally, age gap relationships have the potential to cause power imbalances. This is even more of a worry considering the fact that Nicola has a steady income and family money behind her, while Brooklyn hasn't settled on a career and is now possibly alienated from the Beckham wealth.
