The Romance Rumor Karoline Leavitt Can't Shake

For some bizarre reason, Donald Trump just can't seem to stop showering Karoline Leavitt with inappropriate praise. Instead of focusing on the White House press secretary's work, as most presidents would, Trump repeatedly chooses to zero in on one aspect of Leavitt: her lips. Speaking before a crowd in December 2025, Trump said, "When she gets up there with that beautiful face and those lips that don't stop, pop-pop-pop like a little machine gun" (via X). "Creepy grandpa talking about his press secretary. Then again, his press secretary does have a thing for much older men," one X user responded.

Obviously, he could have made his compliments more appropriate by solely praising her tact and intelligence. To make matters even weirder, the president had publicly made identical comments about Leavitt's appearance earlier the same year. In an August 2025 interview with Newsmax, Trump praised Leavitt, who is a whopping 51 years his junior, saying, "She's become a star. It's that face. It's that brain. It's those lips, the way they move. They move like she's a machine gun." 

After similarly appreciating her lips while speaking to reporters in October 2025, Trump made it clear that he fully intended to keep her under his wing until the end of his presidential term. In June 2025, a plastic surgeon told us that they did not think that Karoline Leavitt had fully embraced the "Mar-a-Lago face" just yet. However, Trump's repeated comments might just inspire her to follow in the footsteps of the worst offenders of the "Mar-a-Lago face" trend. Additionally, the former "Apprentice" host's weird compliments naturally had people questioning the nature of his relationship with Leavitt. And Leavitt's supposed obsession with Trump only added more fuel to the fire of those rumors. 

In May 2025, Donald Trump's communication advisor Margo Martin shared a picture of Karoline Leavitt tending to her infant son while working. While it was refreshing to see a behind-the-scenes look at Leavitt as she juggled motherhood with her work, it was difficult to ignore that she had a cutout of herself with Trump just casually sitting by her desk. Leavitt's office tour from May 2025 only made things weirder, as it revealed that she had another photo of herself with the president front and center on a wall.

Strangely, there was no photo of her own husband Nicholas Riccio on there. "Not one picture w her grandfather? I mean husband?!" an X user questioned under the photo. Additionally, it seems like Trump seldom leaves the White House press secretary's mind. For some strange reason, he even earned a shoutout in Leavitt's Instagram post from December 2025 announcing her pregnancy. "I am also extremely grateful to President Trump and our Chief of Staff Susie Wiles for their support, and for fostering a pro-family environment in the White House." Meanwhile, other White House employees probably wouldn't think to thank their boss for such a deeply personal thing. 

In an interview with The Conservateur, Leavitt revealed that she decided to cut her maternity leave from Fox News short after learning about the assassination attempt on Trump in July 2024. And so, she walked back into the newsroom a mere four days after delivering her son. Although a love coach told us that there were plenty of red flags in Karoline Leavitt's marriage, her Trump obsession probably doesn't bode too well for them either.
