The Internet Thought Ivanka Trump's Hair Might've Been A Wig More Than Once

It doesn't take a genius to determine that Ivanka Trump puts a lot of time, effort, and money into her appearance. From Ivanka Trump's most expensive outfits, to her pricey skincare secrets, to all the ways she keeps her stunning figure in shape, from jiu jitsu to personal trainers, it takes a lot to stay this polished at every turn. And that includes her hair. It's been reported that she spends thousands at the salon, getting her hair cut and highlighted buttery blonde to brighten her natural bronze locks. Yes, in case you missed it, Ivanka Trump is almost unrecognizable with her natural hair color. Add hair pieces to that list. The mother of three's hair extensions are likely adding thousands to her hairstyling bill.

The internet is wondering if we should also add wigs to her account tally. There were two moments back in 2025 that had people questioning her tresses; more specifically, they wondered if her hairstyle was actually a wig. One instance was in January at her father's presidential inauguration ceremony, where she wore an updo topped with a sculptural green hat. The other was in September, when she appeared on CNBC with her hair worn in an unusual-for-her way.

Ivanka Trump's hair on a CNBC appearance fueled wig rumors

In September 2025, Ivanka Trump went on CNBC to discuss one of her charitable initiatives as well as the passing of Charlie Kirk. On an Instagram post of her appearance, someone asked, "Are you wearing a wig?" Another person replied, "She always wears wigs." What caused the speculation? Undoubtedly it was the style.

Trump sported her usual center part with her hair worn down in loose waves, but the front looked a bit unusual. The hair was pulled forward and draped flatly over her temples. The part also looked a bit piecey. For such a flat-on-the-head look, it also had curious volume near the back. Wig pros say that when the hair doesn't sit naturally on the head, it's a dead giveaway that you're wearing a false piece (via Instagram).

On a Reddit board devoted to discussing Trump's wig-gate, one user wrote, "Sooooo many rich and famous women wear wigs, hair toppers, extensions, etc. Their hair is thinning which is actually very common in women as they age but rarely spoken about as it's super taboo." (At the time, Trump was 43). This user makes a valid point that wig-wearing shouldn't be shamed, regardless of how one might feel about the wearer.

Ivanka's inauguration updo also sparked wig chatter

Another moment when the internet thought Ivanka Trump might be wearing a wig was at her father's second inauguration ceremony in January 2025. For the event, she wore a green suit with a coordinating headpiece. As one self-proclaimed wig pro pointed out on Instagram, Trump's hair was lifted too far away from her head in the back, just beneath her green hat, prompting her to believe it was a wig.

But others argued the point, saying, "Are you using the word wig and extensions interchangeably?" Added another, "Ivanka has a clip-in piece in back for up-do volume like my mother would clip over a bun. The rest is obviously her natural hair and hairline." The overwhelming consensus among commenters was that Trump wasn't wearing a wig, only extensions.

Speaking of extensions, the first daughter is no stranger to adding a bit of volume to her hair via clip-ins. At Super Bowl in 2025, her extensions were on display. And the internet has speculated on plenty of other times that she's amplified her hair with faux pieces, from the early aughts and "The Apprentice" era and beyond. The bottom line: Extensions? Probably. Wigs? Very rarely, if at all.
