Lauren Boebert Confused A Congressional Address For The Runway With An Inappropriate Outfit

Another political event, another opportunity for us to see what Colorado Congresswoman Lauren Boebert managed to pull out of her questionable closet. For Donald Trump's first of his second term address to the joint houses of Congress, held in March 2025, Boebert once again added to the list of her outfits that were too tight, by wearing a bodycon asymmetrical dress, which we can also add to the list of inappropriate outfits worn to political events that we'll never forget. The red number itself wasn't awful; it just completely missed the brief of what to wear for such an event. Did she think she was walking a red carpet?

It wasn't just the asymmetrical red dress that raised red flags with this look. The leopard-print stilettos didn't up the professionalism ante any further. They're something we would wear for a night out, or maybe to work, but with some business-appropriate separates to create balance, and to not look like we came straight from the club to the office. Or the hallowed halls of Congress.

Did anyone get their outfits right for this congressional address?

While Lauren Boebert looked as though she thought she was hitting the red carpet in her outfit for President Trump's address to a joint session of Congress, we have to wonder — did anyone at the event get it right? There were plenty of basic politician uniforms, like black trousers topped with colorful blazers. But Melania Trump's outfit was on the boring (albeit expensive) side, with a gray skirt suit. President Trump's children and their partners all looked like they were going to a funeral: Bettina Anderson, Tiffany Trump, and Ivanka Trump all wore somber black 'fits.

But there was one attendee who managed to get the brief correct. The neutral oversized blazer and coordinating trousers that Usha Vance wore count as one of her best outfits so far, and couldn't have been further from Boebert's one-shoulder fitted red number. Vance's outfit was professional without feeling stodgy, elegant without being overdressed, and different enough to make her stand out from the rest of the crowd in the best way possible. Boebert could take some style cues.
