Before-And-After Pics Show Just How Much Tyra Banks' Face Has Changed
Supermodel Tyra Banks is one of those celebs who finally confessed to plastic surgery after denying it for years. To be fair, no one truly expected her to go the au naturel route where aging is concerned, and the years of denials always had us suspicious. Thanks to the 2026 "America's Next Top Model" docuseries, we got to see a lot more of Banks than we've seen in years and couldn't help but notice how different she seemed to look.
To get the full picture, we compared before-and-after snapshots of the model, and even without her admission, it's clear what areas of her face she worked on. For starters, Banks' nose is clearly not what it used to be. In earlier photos, her nose had a lot more roundness and bulbosity to it, but that's no longer the case. Her face also shows a lack of aging that could be due to Botox or facial filler in the right places. The difference is that unlike changes to the nose, these aren't as obvious, and the only evidence pointing to them is the lack of wrinkles, crows' feet, and loss of fat that naturally comes with age.
In March 2018, Banks spoke to People revealing that she'd indeed had a nose job but hadn't had any "age stuff" in relation to plastic surgery. Despite this, when we compare photos of her earlier in her career versus now, one thing is certain (other than the dark side of the modeling industry's constant need for perfection): Tyra Banks may not have had "age stuff" done, but she has been able to dramatically change her look. Speaking to Daily Mail, plastic surgeon Dr. David Pincus speculated that beside possible Botox, she has likely transformed her face with "expert makeup and styling."
Some of Tyra Banks' makeup looks make her face transformation more glaring
The hard-to-ignore changes to Tyra Banks' face likely come down to the clear switch-up in her beauty routines. The supermodel has always had an interesting take on makeup, landing her on our list of celebrities who had bad makeup transformations that completely missed the mark. Previously though, the number of good looks seemed to trump the bad ones. Unfortunately, that no longer seems to be the case.
In most of Banks' recent public appearances, she's worn looks with ill-suiting color palettes, heavy dramatic brows, and even poorly chosen eye shadow colors. This drastically changes her aesthetic and makes her face seem even more different. To be clear, we're not insinuating that every makeup look should be demure or follow the same rules. We're huge fans of dramatic makeup like bold graphic eyeliner and abstract beauty looks that were trending in 2024, so we know that loud styles are just as important as subtle ones. However, bold makeup should still look good or tell a story, which is just not the case with some of Tyra Banks' recent appearances.
When she walked for Balenciaga in the brand's Womenswear Fall/Winter 2025-2026 show, for example, it was clear that the general makeup theme was to be wintry and plain with more focus on the fashion than on the models — which is typical. However, while other models had really plain makeup or subtle touch ups, Banks' made her look older and vampire-like and not in an ethereal beauty sort of way. While we admit that it'll take more than bad makeup to make Tyra Banks' look unattractive, the before-and-after photos make us wish her stylists were more in tune with her face changes and needs.
