Kristi Noem Committed The Same Fashion Crime Twice With Puffy Dress In Different Colors

Most people agree that for staples, it's often a good idea to buy a few in different colors. But when it comes to a very distinct piece? Think twice before you double down. This wasn't an example of Kristi Noem's strange history of inappropriate cosplay outfits, but rather a tale of two puffy-sleeve dresses.
Noem's fashion crime was first committed in January 2025 when she wore a Sachin & Babi Zoe dress in the blue shade, Seaglass. Failed Michigan gubernatorial candidate Tudor Dixon posted a photo of herself and the disgraced homeland security head at the Starlight Ball on X that month. Mere weeks later, in February 2025, Noem posted a photo of herself and her husband on a rare date night. (Rare indeed. It's one of the glaring signs that Kirsti Noem's marriage is hanging on by a thread.) They were heading to an event at the White House for governors. This time she wore the two-tone Sachin & Babi gown in a pink and magenta combination. And trust us, there were thoughts on both looks.
The public had positive and negative reactions to Kristi Noem's outfit repeat
The former secretary of homeland security's portfolio of fashion crimes not only includes the inappropriate fashion flex that will always haunt Kristi Noem, but also wearing the same dress in different shades just a few weeks apart. Maybe if it was the best look of her life, we could understand. But this puffy dress wasn't that astounding, especially with its $895 price tag at the time of writing, per Terry Costa. (And no, it wasn't a two-for-one deal as far as we're aware.) It was also advertised as a solid mother-of-the-bride option. The dress comes in even more color combinations, including a black floral skirt with a white top, as well as a pale blue/navy combo with "periwinkle" on top and "eclipse" on the bottom. So we're hoping we don't see any more versions emerge from Noem's closet.
Both dresses that the former governor wore had fans and critics. On an Instagram post of the blue-toned dress, one comment included, "Love your dress, [it's] perfect! You are doing a great job at Homeland Security." Well, that person's opinion is up for debate, as Noem's job only lasted just over a year. Another wrote, "Why are these Republican females just bundles of badly dressed Botox and hatred."
The pink dress also received feedback on Noem's post. "Beautiful but I prefer Kristi in her blue jeans and MAGA hat!!" wrote one fan. Another added, "Love your dress! Color and style. You look very classy and elegant. Just gorgeous!" But one hater said the dress "sucks." Two dresses, many thoughts.
