Before & After Pics Prove Love Island Icon Molly-Mae Hague Never Needed Filler

Molly-Mae Hague is among the many celebrities who have regretted their face tune-ups. When we look at photos of the "Love Island" icon from 2019 — the year she was on the reality series — and 2025, it becomes obvious that she swore off fillers. Thanks to the loss of fullness in her cheeks, her beautiful brown eyes pop more, and her jawline looks more defined and even. In the 2025 snap, her lips also appear to blend with her natural facial structure more due to the slight loss of volume. Arguably, the biggest difference between the two snaps is that Hague appears to be beaming with more confidence in the photo taken after she dissolved her fillers.

While looking back on photos of herself from before she had the filler dissolved during an episode of "Molly-Mae: Behind It All," Hague recalled how she had to endure hate comments suggesting that her jawline looked like an Xbox controller or resembled Quagmire from "Family Guy." The reality TV star then shared, "I look at those pictures and I actually feel quite sorry for myself."

The reason for Hague's sadness stemmed from her reasons for getting cosmetic tweaks, which she explained, saying, "I definitely felt like it was something I needed to do to look like everybody else who was on Instagram, which is really unhealthy and not good." Even back then, Hague couldn't fully convince herself that fillers were a good decision, but it wasn't until her sister told her that her fillers weren't adding to her natural beauty that she realized she needed to dissolve them.

Molly-Mae Hague started getting her fillers dissolved around 2020

Speaking to Cosmopolitan UK in June 2021, Molly-Mae Hague revealed that she had started getting lip fillers when she was only 17. However, in an October 2020 YouTube vlog, the reality TV star confessed that she didn't quite know what to expect when getting lip filler injections. As a result, she walked into her appointments asking for fillers that would make her lips resemble Kylie Jenner's instead of opting for a more natural look.

Unfortunately, Hague ended up with what she called "botched lips" in her October 2020 vlog. That year, the social media star decided to take matters into her own hands and got her fillers dissolved. By her own admission, it was the "best decision [she had] made in a long time." Hague also notably revealed that she'd dissolved additional fillers in her face because she wanted to look like herself again. Before-and-after pictures of celebrities who dissolved her lip fillers for a more natural look typically prove that they managed to accomplish their goal, and this is true for Hague as well.

Hague is now speaking out about social media's temptation to use filler. In her Cosmopolitan interview, Hague said, "We need to stop normalising filler, with things like 'Kylie Jenner [surgery] packages.'" As an example, she shared that cosmetic fillers had transformed her from a regular teenager to someone who ought to be making an appearance on "Botched" in the blink of an eye. Then, in a June 2024 Instagram Story, Hague revealed that she hadn't gotten any cosmetic fillers in nearly five years.
