Erika Kirk's Mismatched Tour Outfit Proves She Has No Clue How To Dress Herself

Some people are born fashionistas with a knack for what to wear, how to accessorize, and what makes a look. Erika Kirk, unfortunately, has proven time and time again that she is not one of those people. And we cannot understand why the former pageant queen, who seems to love the spotlight, won't get the style help she desperately needs.

Erika Kirk has made more than a few makeup mistakes, and she's been overcompensating for her previously controversial style with boring outfits. But her most common fashion mistake is building outfits from pieces that have no business being together. She repeated this faux pas during Turning Point USA's Student Club America tour stop on March 3, 2026. Erika showed up in a conservative, buttoned-up cardigan that looked a little too old for her, paired with weirdly trendy pants that made the top look even more ancient.

Now, we know we've long advocated to banish the "dress your age" fashion discourse, but if you're going to borrow looks from another generation, you need to fully commit to the bit. Erika choosing to mix pieces that are from different generations in such a simple outfit gives the impression that she has no idea what her style truly is. We're not just judging from this one outfit; her entire wardrobe shows a critical level of incohesiveness.

Erika Kirk is struggling to find her style in the MAGA world

Before becoming Mrs. Kirk, Erika was a totally different person — at least according to her sense of style. There are a decent number of skin-baring outfits that Erika Kirk probably wouldn't wear today, but had no problem wearing before her entrance into the MAGA sphere. It might have been hard to espouse conservative values without dressing the part, so she did what anyone adopting a new, vastly different ideology with no room for nuance would do — she changed her wardrobe.

The problem with this change is that it clearly didn't come naturally. Rather than looking like a genuinely conservative woman, she ends up looking more like a party girl cosplaying what she thinks a conservative person looks like — hence the too-sparkly ensembles like the sequin-heavy outfits Erika wore that were more fit for New Year's Eve. She typically chooses between glittery pieces, dated styles, or a mix of both.

Now, there's nothing wrong with changing beliefs and finding more comfort in modest clothes, but such a change is a major reason why Erika doesn't know how to dress herself and clearly needs some expert help. When we spoke to a fashion expert about how Erika Kirk can fix her pageant-meets-conservative style, her major advice was for Erika to stop dressing costumey, which we believe is the result of trying to imitate conservativeness. To step up her fashion game, she could ditch the glitter for more luxe fabrics, invest in a tailor, and choose pieces with more depth and structure.
