Karoline Leavitt Aged Herself In A Floral Coat That Needs To Go Back In Grandma's Closet

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has worn more than her share of frumpy outfits that prove she doesn't know how to dress her age. She goes for dated cuts, aging patterns, and what-on-earth outfits that remind you of that one matronly dress you saw in an old movie years ago. These outfit choices make Leavitt look so much older, and one outerwear misstep was just another entry in her devastating style chronicles.

Following a press conference with reporters in March 2026, she was spotted on the White House's North Lawn in an unbelievably dated floral coat. Now, we're not knocking the heavy fabric and stiff structure, because few other clothing articles can make a cold day bearable, but every other aspect of the coat was a fail. The busy floral print looked like it had been snatched off a grandma's window, the belt styling was atrociously dated, and the black dress underneath added no pop of color to save the look. Combined in one outfit, it's an absolute style travesty.

This fashion flop stands out among all of Leavitt's others because coat styling is pretty straightforward business. Sure, there are trendier styles like the Penny Lane statement coat or a simple trench coat, but even if you're not going for something that fashionable, basic coats are easy to wear and style. The problem seems to be that the press secretary has a toxic relationship with outerwear in general.

It's not just the coats; Karoline Leavitt's outerwear choices show a mix of outdated trends and an obvious lack of style intuition. There's no doubt she's gorgeous, but even her impressive physique can't save an outfit that is totally devoid of style knowledge. 

The green-and-black outfit, for example, doesn't work for so many reasons. Not only is the blazer oversized, but it is also unstructured and doesn't hold shape. The bright green is a bold choice, but paired with simple black pants and out-of-place black-and-white shoes, it comes off as really unbalanced. Worse still, none of the hems in this outfit are at an appropriate length. The sleeves are too long, and the pants are cropped awkwardly. If this were a worst-dressed competition, Leavitt would have a great shot at taking the cake.

Similarly, the animal print and fur coat combination shows a lack of style intuition. This outfit has three statement pieces: black knee-high boots, a fur-collared jacket, and a cheetah-print dress. Individually, these pieces are great and could be a look if paired with the right components. Together, however, the combination is loud, mismatched, and swallows her up entirely. When an outfit has this many dated pieces, it inadvertently ages the wearer, which is exactly why Karoline Leavitt needs to ditch the outdated trends that dominate her wardrobe.
