Inside Kendra Wilkinson's Journey Taking GLP-1s For Weight Loss

The force of GLP-1 medications has swept through Hollywood, and while some celebs have been clear about not using Ozempic or other weight-loss drugs, former Playboy model and reality TV star Kendra Wilkinson is now incorporating them into her routine. Wilkinson, who now works in real estate, revealed to Us Weekly in March 2026 that she's turning to GLP-1s after experiencing the frustration of not being able to lose weight through a regular exercise routine. "There's nothing worse than being in a gym every single day, working out and not seeing any progress," she told the outlet. "So I actually signed up for a shot company that will be delivering my shot next week. So I'll start my journey next week."

The "Girls Next Door" star revealed that she's "a little bit overweight at the moment," and it was a specific fashion-related hurdle that led her to seeking out the meds. "I hit 40," she explained. "I'm happy. I'm at peace, but I noticed that my jeans are a little tighter lately, so I don't want to go out and shop anymore. Mama is on a budget, so I have to fit back in my jeans."

GLP-1s imitate a natural hormone that regulates blood sugar and lets the body know when it's full, and this type of medication has traditionally been used to treat type 2 diabetes. While many celebs look totally different after using weight-loss medications like Ozempic, Wilkinson confirmed that she's not looking to achieve a drastic weight loss. "I just want to slightly, like, ease my way into it ... I just want to be balanced out. I don't really want to be skinny, but I just want to be balanced and fit in my jeans again," she noted in the interview.

Kendra Wilkinson has used GLP-1s before

In her Us Weekly interview, Kendra Wilkinson didn't specify which GLP-1 medication she would be trying, but it's not the first time she's gone down this route. She'd been experiencing weight gain since at least January 2025, when she took to her Instagram Stories to let fans know, "Yes, I've gained weight. Yes, I'm aging. Yes, I'm not that girl I was before (Playboy girl). For once in a long time I feel good and mentally healthy. Kids are my everything. Feeling pretty balanced. Working out and cooking a lot more. Golf, work. No housekeeper or nanny" (via E! News). The "Kendra Sells Hollywood" alum assured fans that she was "happy, healthy and at peace in life finally," but by that April, she revealed that she had tried GLP-1s. Unfortunately, it didn't work out for her.

"I started the weight loss shots," she wrote in her Stories, alongside a photo of her looking a little disappointed (via E! News). "Only did one. Nevermind. Throwing away!!" After fans had asked about her decision, she revealed in a follow-up Story that she'd "heard too many horror stories" about people ending "up in ER" and "surgeries."

Research shows that GLP-1 medications do indeed have side effects, though they're typically mild. These include symptoms like nausea, stomach pain and bloating, vomiting, heartburn, dizziness, hair loss, and fatigue, alongside unpleasant bowel changes. More serious side effects have occurred, but these are relatively rare. They include pancreatitis, intestinal paralysis, acute kidney damage, bowel obstruction, and gallbladder problems. There's also a potential link between GLP-1 use and thyroid C-cell tumors, leading to the FDA issuing a boxed warning on these medications. Along with these risks of the diabetes drugs, GLP-1s can also lead to Ozempic face, which some stars have experienced.
