Taylor Swift's Worst Music Video Outfits That Should've Stayed Off-Screen
Taylor Swift has undergone a stunning style transformation over her decades-long career. From her early days as a teen country star, to her current run as one of the world's biggest pop stars, Swift has solidified her status as a pop culture icon. We've seen the "Cruel Summer" singer go from a boho chic country girl, to a playful, red-lipped pop diva, an ultra-edgy fashion queen, and finally transform into a versatile style icon who embraces every aesthetic with ease. Most recently, Taylor Swift's style has changed thanks to Travis Kelce, her fiancé and the Kansas City Chiefs' tight end.
While Swift donned a variety of fabulously elaborate, diamond-studded burlesque costumes for the visuals of her 2025 album "The Life of a Showgirl," she has worn some questionable 'fits in some of her older music videos. Even though Taylor Swift has taught us some of the best style secrets, the pop star is not immune to the occasional styling flop. Let's take a look back at some of Taylor Swift's worst music video looks.
Taylor Swift's floral print dress in We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together reads a little cheap
In the video for "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together," Taylor Swift rocks quite a few floral print dresses. While the super-feminine looks contrast well with the sassy, tongue-in-cheek vibe of the song and video, one of the dresses stands out for all the wrong reasons. Swift can be spotted in a cheap-looking white midi dress covered in muted pink, orange, and green flowers that clash with her signature bold red lipstick and nail polish.
Taylor Swift's party girl 'fit in End Game is a little too messy
Taylor Swift's "End Game" music video follows Swift, Future, and Ed Sheeran as they go on a fun party romp through Tokyo and London. During one of the Tokyo scenes, Swift wears a cropped graphic hoodie, black track shorts, and a pair of over-the-knee gold boots. Taylor Swift's killer legs couldn't save her 'fit like they did at the 2026 iHeartRadio Music Awards, though — the casual athletic top and shorts paired with club-ready boots wasn't the serve she thought it was.
Taylor Swift's grungy vibe in I Knew You Were Trouble wasn't a win
Like some of the other outdated Taylor Swift outfits we'll never get over, her grungy look in the "I Knew You Were Trouble" music video was a product of its time. Her (very 2012) outfit features black skinny jeans and a ripped white t-shirt. Combined with a distractingly awful pink gradient wig that certainly doesn't fit into the stunning hair transformation of Taylor Swift, this is one ensemble that sticks out for all the wrong reasons.
The light blue dress Taylor Swift wore in Style aged her
In the music video for "Style," Taylor Swift can be seen wearing a blue lace dress in a few shots. The dress is incredibly dowdy — which is a word that usually doesn't describe Swift's style at all — and makes the singer look older than she really is. The dress also features both a modest neckline and hemline, which leave little room for any contrast or interest in the outfit.
Taylor Swift's fringe dress in Delicate wasn't the most flattering
The blue fringe dress that Taylor Swift wore during the "Delicate" music video definitely isn't our favorite look. While the video is trying to tell a story about Swift finding inner peace amidst the pressure of her very public life, we couldn't help but be distracted by Swift's very un-glamorous dress. The several layers of ill-fitting blue fringe and glittery mesh are simultaneously too much and not nearly enough. We all know that Taylor Swift lives an outrageously lavish life, so why not show it off?
The pink butterfly dress Taylor Swift wore for Lover looked a bit too childish
Taylor Swift's outfits in the "Lover" music video each represent a color, and, when combined with the monochromatic dollhouse set, make for striking visuals. However, as much as we love the sweeping bright yellow dress Swift also wore during the video, her pink look just didn't work. In the bedroom set, Swift can be seen wearing a light pink button-up dress covered in hot pink butterflies. Unlike her other outfits in the video, this one is a little too on-the-nose with the Barbie reference.
Taylor Swift's alter-ego in Anti-Hero wore a few clashing patterns
As fun as the music video for Taylor Swift's 2022 hit "Anti-Hero" is to watch, the outfit her "problem" persona dons is decidedly less so. Swift's alter-ego wears a multicolor striped tank top, orange rhinestone mini shorts, and a pair of snakeskin boots. While Swift's flashy look suits the '70s vibe of the video, the pattern clashing was a bit too much for us. Perhaps it wasn't the best idea for the costume department to pair the already over-the-top tank and shorts with animal print.
Taylor Swift's fur bodysuit in Look What You Made Me Do wasn't the serve she thought it was
One of the most striking visuals in Taylor Swift's "Look What You Made Me Do" music video sees her standing triumphantly atop a mountain of her past selves. While we love her edgy energy, the black fur bodysuit Swift sports while crushing her old personas is ill-fitting. Between the heavy material, dramatic fur sleeves, and silver "REP" embellishment, this look gives off a costume-y vibe that the rest of her "Look What You Made Me Do" outfits don't really have.
