Ellen DeGeneres Stopped Getting Filler And Before & After Pics Highlight Her New Natural Look
In September 2024, Ellen DeGeneres' Netflix comedy special debuted, with the former talk-show host mixing painful topics with comedy. The "Finding Dory" star was honest with fans about everything from being ousted from Hollywood following accusations of bullying on her eponymous show, to getting older. One topic in particular that had the Internet buzzing afterward was DeGeneres' revelation that she stopped doing injectables. "Hey, if I look older than when you saw me last it's because I'm older than when you saw me last," she told the crowd in "Ellen DeGeneres: For Your Approval" (via People). "And also I stopped doing Botox and filler." Looking at before-and-after pics, we can see the difference in the comedian's appearance.
In January 2020, on her 62nd birthday, DeGeneres attended the Grammy Awards in LA with a well-preserved forehead visible beneath her closely cropped hair. And four years later, at a book launch in Montecito, the 66-year-old showed what happens to your face when you stop Botox: Your natural look shines through. "It's hard to be honest about aging and seem cool," she admitted in the comedy special. While she isn't necessarily one of the celebs who regretted their face tune-ups, she clearly doesn't feel that injectables are a part of her life anymore.
Ellen DeGeneres has embraced aging in some ways more than others
Ellen DeGeneres may have accepted her natural face look after she stopped getting Botox and fillers, but her natural hair color didn't receive as much acceptance. The comedian attended a gallery opening in Paris in September '25 with a gray and brown pixie. The photo also showed DeGeneres with more movement in her face, signifying that she had indeed given the injectables a rest. She reportedly let her natural hair color emerge when she and Portia de Rossi relocated to the Cotswolds in England to pursue a quieter life, and DeGeneres' retirement from Hollywood, in late 2024.
But she wasn't completely done with California, or blond hair. Fast-forward to December 2025, and the voice of Dory was spotted in Montecito, where the couple lives part-time, with a dyed shade that resembled her signature hair color from her decades in Hollywood. She further confirmed the decision with Instagram posts featuring the refreshed color, including one in January 2026. Fortunately, this wasn't one of the pics of Ellen DeGeneres and wife Portia de Rossi that make their age gap undeniable, since the former talk-show host does have a more youthful look with her fair locks. But again, the signs of aging were still prevalent in her face, hinting that she had been true to her word about Botox and filler. Ultimately, there are no rules about accepting certain signs of aging and defying others — it's to each her own — which is apparently the approach DeGeneres is currently taking.
