The Biggest Rumors About Giada De Laurentiis' Love Life

Fans have always been curious to know what Giada De Laurentiis is cooking up in her personal life, and like most other TV personalities, she's faced her fair share of rumors over the years. When she first rose to fame with her Food Network show "Everyday Italian," De Laurentiis was still married to former husband Todd Thompson. Unlike how fellow cooking show icon Rachel Ray unapologetically chose not to have kids, De Laurentiis shares one daughter, Jade, with her ex-husband. The former couple announced their separation in 2014, and their divorce was finalized the following year. But just weeks after she and Thompson called it quits, De Laurentiis became the subject of several cheating rumors accusing her of having had affairs with Matt Lauer, Bobby Flay, and other celebrities while she was still married.

A report from Star Magazine published in January 2015 accused the famous chef of stepping out on Thompson with the likes of former "Today" host Lauer and her fellow Food Network star Flay (via E! News). De Laurentiis spoke out at the time to deny the allegations, insisting in a statement to Gossip Cop, "My long-time friendships with my co-workers Matt Lauer and Bobby Flay are exactly that — longtime friendships. There has never been a romantic relationship with these two men" (via Huffington Post). De Laurentiis also had to squash rumors of an alleged affair with musician John Mayer in the same interview, where she emphasized that she had "never ever been romantically involved with John Mayer."

Following the downfall of her 11-year marriage to Todd Thompson, Giada De Laurentiis wasn't one of the celebrities who embraced being single for very long. She began dating TV producer Shane Farley in late 2015, less than a year after announcing her separation — but skeptics have always wondered if her romance with Farley overlapped with her marriage. 

Farley spent years as an executive producer on "Big Morning Buzz," with De Laurentiis appearing as a guest on the show not once, but twice, during Farley's tenure in 2013. Farley was also an executive producer on De Laurentiis' failed CBS talk show with Bobby Flay in 2012, which, if nothing else, proves that she and Farley at least knew of each other long before her divorce.

But regardless of how their relationship started, De Laurentiis and Farley have been going strong for over a decade. In February 2026, De Laurentiis shared a sweet Valentine's Day tribute to Farley on Instagram, sharing that she had the "best day in Milan w/my valentine." It's unclear if De Laurentiis and Farley are among the celebrity couples who never plan to get married, but they have certainly been together long enough to feel like actual spouses.
