Melanie Griffith Ditched Her Filler And Before & After Pics Highlight The Difference

Melanie Griffith would probably agree that she belongs on the list of celebs who regretted their face tune-ups. In 2017, the 1980s Hollywood icon told Porter Magazine (via People) that she was initially unaware of how drastically different she looked, saying, "I didn't [realize] until people started saying, 'Oh my god, what has she done?!'" Looking at before-and-after pics of the "Working Girl" star, it's hard to believe that she couldn't see how extreme her use of fillers had become.

In a 2015 photo of Griffith at a Clippers game in LA, the famous '80s actor looks almost unrecognizable with her plumped cheeks and lips. It almost seemed like she suffered an allergic reaction. She told Porter Magazine how she felt in response to the public outcry. "I was so hurt I went to a different doctor and he started dissolving all the s*** that this other woman doctor had put in," she said. "Hopefully I look more normal now." In a later photo of her at the 2024 Elle Women in Hollywood celebration, it appeared that Griffith hadn't completely abandoned her penchant for cosmetic work, but it was certainly toned down.

Melanie Griffith is the middle generation of a Hollywood family — her mother is "The Birds" actor Tippi Hedren, who turned 96 in January 2026, and her daughter, fellow actor Dakota Johnson, is 36. Griffith, who turns 69 in August 2026, supported her daughter at the 2025 premiere of Johnson's film "Splitsville." While photos from the event show the former star looking like she still schedules tune-ups with her doc, the fillers seem to be applied with a lighter hand than before.

Yes, we've seen the before-and-after pics of Griffith and other celebs who dissolved their lip filler for a more natural look, but it doesn't appear that "The Bonfire of the Vanities" star has completely sworn off cosmetic procedures in favor of aging naturally. As one user on X (formerly Twitter) speculated in 2023, "That's what happens when you become addicted to Botox. Melanie Griffith and other celebrities get addicted to these injections and it leaves a mess on their hands and face." On the flip side, plenty of other fans flock to Griffith's Instagram to comment on how beautiful she still looks. Once again, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
