Jane Seymour Uses This Old-School Beauty Trick For A Well-Rested Appearance
Jane Seymour has been a beauty icon ever since her days as a Bond girl in the 1970s. The actor is just as stunning today as she was back then, so, naturally, she's accrued her fair share of beauty secrets over the years. The "Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman" star recently revealed one such secret during an April 2026 interview with Woman's World.
Seymour disclosed that, in addition to her coveted eight hours of sleep and morning cup of coffee, she maintains her refreshed appearance with an old-school beauty hack. "To help me look well-rested, I keep teaspoons in the fridge or freezer when I'm filming," explained Seymour. "When I'm in the makeup chair, my skin has to be perfectly clean and ready, like a blank slate, so I'll hold the cold spoons over my eyes and put them all around my skin." The actor added that while she's having her hair done, she likes to throw on a firming cream and massage it into her skin with the cold spoons. "It's so refreshing," she said.
The "Somewhere in Time" star has shared that her skin has become one of her favorite features, especially as she's gotten older. During a May 2026 interview with Harper's Bazaar, Seymour said that she used to love sunbathing in her youth, even burning her skin while on holiday in the hopes of returning home with a darker tan. "Ever since, I've spent the rest of my life trying to do whatever I can [to protect it]. SPF, exfoliating dead skin cells, taking care of it with serums and creams, wearing hats with SPF — it's all about skin, it really is," Seymour told the outlet. Her beauty advice is absolutely spot on, as maintaining healthy skin is one of the best ways to look fresh-faced when you don't have makeup.
How to maximize the effectiveness of Jane Seymour's cold spoons hack, per our expert
There are many needle-free alternatives to under-eye fillers, and Jane Seymour's cold teaspoon hack fits right in. Gregory Dylan, a licensed esthetician of 25 years and the creator of Gregory Dylan Skincare, spoke with Glam exclusively about how Seymour's trick is an easy, yet effective, way to give your skin a boost. "The cold helps reduce puffiness, especially under the eyes, and can temporarily tighten the look of the skin. It also helps wake up the face by increasing circulation," Dylan tells Glam. Seymour's cold spoon hack shouldn't be confused with gua sha, which you would use in your skincare routine to help with lymphatic drainage, Dylan notes.
As effective as cold spoons can be by themselves, Dylan explains that there's a simple way to improve upon the actor's beauty tip: pairing the spoons with something that can provide a little "slip," like a lightweight serum or moisturizer. "You don't need anything heavy, but you want enough glide so you're not pulling on the skin," he says. "A hydrating serum works well, especially under the eyes. A facial oil can also be used for extra glow." However, in a pinch, the cold spoons by themselves can still provide a great tightening and de-puffing effect, Dylan explains.
While Seymour's trick can be quite effective for refreshing the skin's appearance temporarily, it's important to remember that combining it with other skincare treatments is necessary to achieve lasting results. Seymour herself has discussed the products she uses in her extensive beauty routine, along with prioritizing a healthy diet and consistent exercise, to maintain her skin's appearance. "Think of [cold spoons] as a quick reset for your face, not a long-term solution. But it's a classic old-school Hollywood trick that's great in a pinch," Dylan tells Glam.
