Lisa Rinna And Harry Hamlin's Enduring Marriage Is Proof That Opposites Attract

There are plenty of adorable pics of Lisa Rinna and Harry Hamlin that put haters in their place, but Rinna is no stranger to doing so herself. The "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star regularly responds to those who speculate about the state of her relationship with Hamlin, whom she married in 1997. On a 2018 episode of "Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen," Rinna gave a very candid answer to a fan caller who asked how the actor and Hamlin have kept things "spicy" over the course of their decades-long marriage. 

"I really don't know the answer," Lisa Rinna, whose full beauty evolution is a sight to see, told the caller. "We are complete opposites. And I mean, we have nothing in common!" Host Andy Cohen jumped in to comment that the one thing the couple does share is being "crazy about each other." The "Days of Our Lives" icon responded, "You can't create that, you can't make it — it either is, or it isn't."

Hamlin has agreed with this sentiment before, telling People in 2022 that being "diametrically opposite" is the secret to a happy marriage. "I like going up to the mountains, and her idea of camping is anything below the 10th floor of the Four Seasons," Hamlin shared with the outlet. The pair both explained that, on a more serious note, maintaining a healthy relationship long-term requires mutual respect and being open to what your partner has to say. "We've always heard each other," Hamlin said, with Rinna adding, "And it doesn't hurt that he's so good-looking."

While Lisa Rinna and Harry Hamlin's relationship is stranger than you probably realized, the pair have made it work since 1997. However, maintaining their marriage hasn't been effortless. In a February 2026 episode of "Dinner's On Me with Jesse Tyler Ferguson," Rinna explained that the way she and her husband respect each other is what makes their marriage possible, and that their relationship requires a lot of work. After all, the couple has had a few bumps in the road; Hamlin initially threatened to divorce Rinna if she joined the cast of "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills."

On "Oprah: Where Are They Now?" in 2015, Rinna explained that, after she told Hamlin about her offer to be on the show, he said he'd file for divorce if she went through with it. "I said, 'Okay, done. Done. No more conversation," Rinna recalled. But, after taking time to look into the series, Hamlin agreed to allow their family to participate. "Harry, being a really, really smart business man himself, said, 'It's a good thing. It'll work for you. You should do it.' So I did it," Rinna recalled. "I'm an entrepreneur at heart, and to make all my other businesses run, and do everything I want to do, I have to be on TV."

Despite the ups and downs, Rinna and Hamlin are still going strong. The Hollywood power couple celebrated their 29-year anniversary in March 2026; Rinna commemorated the milestone on Instagram with a carousel of current and throwback pictures. "The love of my life, sexiest man alive, chef extraordinary, best husband and father... I love you more everyday," Rinna gushed in the post's caption. "So grateful for this beautiful family of ours."
