'I'm Over A Bra': Drew Barrymore Is Done Wearing What Doesn't Serve Her As She Ages

Drew Barrymore is embracing change as she gets older. During her talk show, the TV host revealed that she's ditching bras and embracing gravity's pull. "I don't care if these sausages fall down to my knees," the 51-year-old jokingly told "The Drew Barrymore Show" guest Chris Fleming in April 2026. "I'm over it, and I don't care anymore."

Instead, the mother of two shared she's wearing something slightly more comfortable these days, unbuttoning her top mid-convo to reveal a nude bodysuit. "I wear this thing ... 'cause I don't want to wear a bra because I'm over a bra," the "Scream" actor explained. "I'm too old, and I won't wear one." Fleming let her know she was in good company before the two compared garment styles. Barrymore noted that the bottom of her bodysuit was a little shifty, although she still seemed to prefer it over a bra.

However, the "Charlie's Angels" star's frustration with bras isn't exactly new. In 2006, Barrymore faced scrutiny for not wearing a bra with a high-neck green Gucci dress. During a 2010 interview, she deemed it her worst red-carpet moment. The backlash was so bad that she ended up apologizing for her "watermelons" adding, "I felt so bad. I was like, 'I'm so sorry, Gucci. I have tarnished your name" (via Glamour).

Drew Barrymore is also done hiding signs of aging

In addition to going without a bra, Drew Barrymore has often opted to go makeup-free. Releasing the opinions of others and embracing signs of aging, she's shared several posts about loving how she looks during this stage of her life. Like fellow actor Andie MacDowell, whose gorgeous gray hair has often stolen the show, Barrymore has flaunted her looks without fear. In a December 2025 Instagram post, Barrymore proved that she knows how to look fresh-faced without makeup. She captioned a bare-faced video of herself, "Aging is a privilege that I will never take for granted." The video shows her side profile and a closeup shot of fine lines near her eyes.

The "50 First Dates" actor shared a similar sentiment in a May 2026 reel about her fine lines. Attributing the lines to the smiles and laughter she's gotten to experience, the actor captioned the post, "It has been such an honor to earn every single line I have on my face!!!!" Her positive outlook on aging resonates with her followers, earning numerous encouraging comments and many compliments. Patricia Heaton, who gave a perfect response to critics hating on her gray hair, has earned similar kudos.
