What The Leading Ladies Of The Brady Bunch Movie Look Like These Days
"The Brady Bunch" may be a decades-old sitcom that aired in the late '60s to mid '70s, but the family-friendly show has been firmly entrenched in Americana pop culture ever since. No other family stole our hearts quite like the blended family of eight, who showed folks that divorcées can have a happy ending. When the movie version came out in 1995, with actors who did an amazing job portraying the original ones, a renewed love for the Brady family took over, and the leading ladies were a huge part of the remake's success.
With "Cheers" star Shelley Long as Carol Brady, and Florence Henderson (the original matriarch) as Grandma, there was no doubt "The Brady Bunch Movie" would be a comedic hit. And of course, there would be no family without the three sisters, played by Christine Taylor, Jennifer Elise Cox, and Olivia Hack. It was the parody that shot the then-unknown actors to fame, and they've come a long way since their breakout roles. Now, over 30 years later, the film remains near and dear to fans' hearts, and like the ladies of "The Brady Bunch" show and the way they look today, the women who starred in the movie version have also had major transformations.
Shelley Long's blond locks are as vibrant as ever
If you were around in the '80s, chances are, you watched at least a few episodes of "Cheers" and grew to love the often-snobby but witty Diane Chambers, played by Shelley Long. The sitcom centered around a local Boston watering hole shot the blond bombshell to fame, and along with "Troop Beverly Hills," she became known for portraying Carol Brady in "The Brady Bunch Movie." Her wheat-colored locks were a perfect replica of the original style.
Long has maintained her girl-next-door beauty over the years, as well as her gorgeous blond hair, which she kept medium-length. Despite her natural good looks, she told Yahoo! Life in 2017, "Taking care of myself was [always] a big part of the challenge because I would get up at 5 or 5:30 [a.m.]. I was supposed to be the, ya know, 'pretty girl' — and I need a lot of work to become the pretty girl."
These days, Long likes to stay under the radar, with her last public sighting being in 2024. She was spotted sans makeup, with her almost-platinum hair straight and past her shoulders. After being in the spotlight for decades, we don't blame Long for wanting to keep a low profile and not bother with everyday glam!
Christine Taylor could be the original Marcia's twin
"The Brady Bunch" movie featured some of the best casting decisions ever, and it's hard to believe that Christine Taylor wasn't actually the OG Marcia Brady. With both known for their shiny, long blond hair and pert button noses, the two could have been twins from different eras. Taylor shared with Entertainment Weekly, "I remember even when we were doing press for the movie and the sequel — people always thought that I was the original Marcia, Maureen McCormick. The plumber would come to the house and be like, 'Oh, I grew up watching your show!' You've just gotta go with it."
Fast forward 31 years, and Taylor is still twinning with McCormick, who has slightly darker sunflower blond hair, which is summer's hottest color. In an Instagram post shared by the "Brady Bunch" star on April 19, she and her doppelgänger posed side-by-side, highlighting their same sparkling blue eyes and smiles. Fellow actor George Hahn joked, "I felt a shift in the air pressure, and now realize that the meeting of the Marcias has put a correction in the cosmic alignment. Well done." If Jan Brady were in the comments, she would definitely have said, "Marcia, Marcia, Marcia!"
Jennifer Elise Cox has embraced blunt bangs
Jennifer Elise Cox may not have been a dead ringer for Eve Plumb, who played the first Jan Brady, but it was her acting skills that got her the coveted part. While auditioning for the role of the middle sister, Cox really committed to being Jan by showing up with her signature stylish half-up, half-down hairstyle and nailing the character's mannerisms. While on "Classic Conversations Podcast with Jeff Dwoskin," the actor shared, "I just think they couldn't find Jan because Jan has a specific voice, a specific attitude, and like I understood it right away." She added, "It's such a good role. I mean, I don't really expect to get a better role than Jan Brady for the rest of my life."
These days, Cox has let go of Jan's retro hairstyle and is rocking super blunt bangs and platinum hair. She hasn't said goodbye to her character, however, and fans can even request a Cameo from her as Jan (or as Jan's Christmas alter-ego, "Jan-ta," during the holidays). Cox shared a hilarious reel in December 2024, saying, "Hi, everyone! It's new Jan Brady. Do you like my look? Well, this year, I want to wish you a very Brady merry Christmas, and I want to do it by giving you a Cameo." It's clear that she hasn't lost her sense of humor or ability to portray Jan perfectly, and we think her fictional counterpart would totally approve of the updated hairstyle.
Olivia Hack is all grown up and gorgeous
The Brady family wouldn't be complete without the adorable Cindy Brady, who was known for her set of pigtails, either worn in braids or ringlets. Originally played by Susan Olsen in the sitcom, Olivia Hack did an awesome job in the remake film, although she had to wear a wig to recreate the youngest daughter's hairstyle. In a 1995 interview shared by The Bobby Wygant Archive, she revealed that it took about an hour just to style the hairpiece into elaborate braids, and it was quite the process. "I really don't look like Cindy, but when I got the hair and the makeup ... I surprised myself," the young girl declared.
As a grown-up, Hack looks even less like Cindy, as she has since ditched the braided wig for fiery red hair, often worn in curls. Her style is eclectic, favoring long, flowy frocks in bright colors, but she's also not afraid to rock a body-hugging dress. While at a convention in March 2025, Hack greeted fans in a short gold sequined sheath with a plunging neckline. "I can already feel the con hangover starting, but only because we had so much fun at [Anime Las Vegas]. It had been too long since we were all together, and there was no better way to celebrate 20 years of 'Avatar' than with a trip to Sin City," she shared on Instagram. From playing a bubbly adolescent to being the voice of Ty Lee in "Avatar: The Last Airbender," Hack has sure come a long way since her "Brady Bunch" movie days.
