Old Hollywood Icon Faye Dunaway Has Had An Effortless Gray Hair Transformation

Hollywood actor Faye Dunaway was once known for sporting luscious blond hair in cinematic classics like "Bonnie and Clyde," "The Thomas Crown Affair," and "Network." Though she still makes occasional film appearances, the once-prominent star is no longer as front-and-center as she once was. With that, fans and general audiences may not be as familiar with what she looks like today.

In May 2026, Dunaway returned to the red carpet in a rare public outing for the TCM Classic Film Festival. The 85-year-old star took to the event with grace, donning a black suit, a white button-up, and three oversized red appliqués. Fans may also have noticed Dunaway's blond locks have mostly faded to silver. Her hair was long and lusciously blended, which is one of the best gray hair trends for older women in 2026. She also followed suit with other older celebrities who've broken all the makeup rules, seemingly forgoing a heavy beat.

A May 2026 Facebook post from Dunaway's "The Towering Inferno" co-star Carlena Gower show the two at the TCM Classic Film Festival, and the comments prove that Dunaway's audience hasn't abandoned her, nor has her beauty gone unappreciated. "Faye is always the [same] Faye!" one user wrote. "I will always love her."

Faye Dunaway's appearance at the 2026 TCM Classic Film Festival isn't the first time the celebrity proudly showed off her gray hair. Some may recall she also showed signs of graying in previous public appearances, including the May 2016 after-party for the "Game of Thrones" Season 6 premiere. Dunaway posed alongside one of the HBO series' stars, Jaime Lannister actor Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, in a shot showcasing her side profile. The "Chinatown" actor still retained some of her trademark blond hair at the time, though it had mostly been swapped for her modern silver mane.

Dunaway's style was also gorgeous at the event. The then-75-year-old was unafraid of showing a little skin with a black bra covered only by a black mesh top and an open black-and-gold jacket. Her beautiful fashion choice only further illustrated that she's unfazed by society's expectations for older women, and we love her for it.
