Ashley Graham Is Still Working To 'Get To Know' Her New Body After Having Kids
In a society where quick postpartum snapbacks are often praised, celebrities like Ashley Graham, who is dealing with the more common long-term physical changes that childbirth brings, are fighting to remain body positive. The trail-blazing plus-sized model shares three children — Isaac (born in 2020) and twins Roman and Malachi (born in 2022) – with her husband, filmmaker Justin Ervin. "I'm living in a different body and it's been hard to get to know her," Graham told Marie Claire in an April 2026 interview. "I can't say that I can look in the mirror and be like, 'I love you.' It's not that for me. It's that, 'Wow, I made some children.' I was as fit as I could be in 2019 when I got pregnant ... I'm still trying to get to that, but I've had to get over it in my head that I'll look like I did in my late 20s, early 30s. She's gone. Let's focus on the new girl."
The 38-year-old acknowledged that GLP-1s are also impacting beauty standards in modeling, the same industry that she'd broken barriers in to make it more inclusive. "There was a pendulum that swung that was so body acceptance, positivity, everybody be who they want to be. And now it's going back this whole opposite way that feels like a smack in the face to the women who have felt like they've had a voice," Graham explained, noting the she would continue her advocacy. "I know that there are and there's gonna still be women who are considered plus size forever. This drug isn't going to wipe out a whole statistic of women."
Kind words and support have helped Ashley Graham
With the support of her family and kind words from her network, Ashley Graham seems to be remaining optimistic. Exemplifying the value of postpartum support from a partner, Ashley Graham credits her husband, Justin Ervin, for being by her side throughout the ups and downs of her life. She told Marie Claire, "He truly is the calm to my storm. We are the yin and the yang. I feel like a whole person with him." Despite her postpartum insecurities, Ashley Graham, who is so gorgeous makeup-free, continues to wow those around her, including a Hollywood icon and major retail brands.
Graham shared that while she was on set for her cameo in "The Devil Wears Prada 2," she received an unforgettable compliment from Meryl Streep, or rather her character Miranda Priestly. "She comes over and she goes, 'Darling, you have impeccable, impeccable posture.' And then walked away. I was like, 'Oh, this is Miranda. She's in character.'" Graham recalled (via People). "It made my night." The model was spotted during the film's initial red carpet scene wearing a black Christian Siriano dress. Graham also attended the 2026 Met Gala, sharing photos of herself in a Di Petsa gown on Instagram. The post gained attention from Victoria's Secret, a brand she'd modeled for, that commented, "You are unreal."
Another mom of twins, Jennifer Lopez also has stunning Met Gala looks we'll never forget.
