Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, however, clearly show their affection for each other by trading cheeky, yet harmless, barbs online. The two frequently troll one another on social media and post unflattering pics of each other, and it looks like the "Deadpool" star has been roasting his wife for years. While on "Late Night with Seth Meyers" in 2016, Reynolds revealed that he played Marvin Gaye's "Let's Get It On" while Lively was in labor. "It was like steak knives came out of her eyes," he recalled.

Trolling the now-mom of four during a contraction probably wasn't the best idea, but Reynolds has had plenty of humorous moments making fun of the "Gossip Girl" star, which is just more proof that women like goofy guys. Lively has also shown her sense of humor by serving it right back. Being overly gushy clearly isn't their thing, and if poking fun at each other brings them closer together, we're all for it.

One of the downsides of being a famous couple is having to deal with gossip, and while there may be some red flags in Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds' relationship, they're quick to shut down any rumors — with humor to boot. In March 2018, the International Business Times claimed that a source told OK! Magazine, "The past few years, Ryan's been working out of town while Blake stays home with the kids. The distance between them has taken its toll." The outlet noted that the info was debunked by now-defunct pop culture reporting website Gossip Cop, but they still tweeted, "Deadpool Ryan Reynolds and wife Blake Lively struggling to spend 'quality time,'" and tagged Ryan Reynolds.

A mere two hours later, Reynolds retweeted the post, adding the response, "I wish. I could use a little 'me time.'" The "Free Guy" star's sarcastic comment didn't go unnoticed by fans, with one commenting, "I love you, you always have the best comeback!!" Although Blake Lively didn't weigh in with her own witty retort, we're sure she was laughing right alongside her husband.

Birthdays are usually a time when partners shower their significant others with gushing posts on social media, but Ryan Reynolds does the complete opposite. In August 2019, he shared an Instagram carousel of various pics of Blake Lively caught in a less-than-flattering state of disarray. "Happy Birthday, @blakelively," he wrote. The comment was all he needed, as the pictures were enough to show that he was trolling the "A Simple Favor" star. A fan joked, "He'd better sleep with one eye open and one foot on the floor."

A few years later, Lively appeared on "Good Morning America" and, while talking about the IG post, she quipped, "It's alarming to me how many of these photos he found, though, where I look like this." She added, "But he looks handsome in all of them. I really gotta work on my photo face." Lively then joked that she had some comebacks up her sleeve, sharing, "I'm working on it."

Before the release of "A Simple Favor," Ryan Reynolds posted the trailer in May 2018, which teased that Blake Lively's character, Emily Nelson, would be caught in the middle of something nefarious and wind up with a mysterious ending. Apparently, he couldn't handle the suspense and tweeted, "You can tell me. We're married. You once drove me to the hospital when you were giving birth. So ... what the f*** happened to Emily?"

Not one to give away any spoilers, even to her husband, Lively replied totally in character, "Oh darling, of all the secrets I'm keeping from you, this should be the LEAST of your concerns... trust me." As always, Lively gave it right back with an Instagram Story of herself standing in Reynolds' same position next to the TV (again playing the "Deadpool & Wolverine" trailer). "Honey, I'm home. My day was good. Yours?" she wrote in the caption (via People). It may have been a day late, but at least she made the effort to promote Reynolds' film. Hey, if it were a choice between attending an epic Super Bowl with a global pop star or staying in to watch your husband's movie trailer, we would have totally beelined it to Las Vegas.
