Selena Gomez Took A Cue From The Bride With Her Chic Glam For Taylor Swift's Rehearsal Dinner

All of Taylor Swift's besties have arrived in New York City for her big wedding on July 3, including Selena Gomez, who already gave fans a glimpse of her rehearsal dinner makeup. In an Instagram story shared on July 2, the "Only Murders in the Building" star took a video of herself in the back of a car. In this clip, with her seemingly on her way to the venue, Gomez was rocking her own version of Swift's signature cat eyeliner – the one "sharp enough to kill a man," as Swift's song says. However, instead of the sleek line the "Lover" singer usually sports, the former Disney actor's winged look was soft and smudged, with the ends gradually inclining to a sharp point. The effect was gorgeous and ethereal, and while there were several times Gomez went makeup-free and looked stunning, we think she should recreate this look on repeat.

Stylist Erin Walsh shared Gomez's whole rehearsal dinner ensemble on Instagram, revealing a stunning sheer black Oscar de la Renta gown. With her hair pulled into a fierce top knot and perfectly soft glam makeup, this could have easily been the wedding day look. Since plans for Swift's big day have been so hush-hush, we don't know what she has in store inside Madison Square Garden, but considering how close the two singers are, Gomez will likely be right by her BFF's side.

Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift's friendship goes back nearly two decades. They met when dating two of the Jonas Brothers — Nick and Joe, respectively — and they never looked back. Although their relationships with the 2000s heartthrobs ended a while after, the two pop stars became friends for life and have shown up for each other during special times since then. As reported by Page Six, Gomez is set to be one of Swift's bridesmaids at her July 3 wedding, which isn't surprising in the least. While it hasn't been officially confirmed, Olivia Levin, who wrote "The Story of Us: How the Taylor Swift Fandom Changed Our Lives," told Extra in July 2026, "Selena and Taylor met when they were teenagers. They were a similar age, going through similar things. Taylor was there for Selena's wedding last year."

In October 2025, Gomez posted an Instagram reel of Swift's reaction to her getting made up on her wedding day to Benny Blanco. As she was having her veil put on, the Grammy winner is heard gushing, "Look at her. Oh my god." Gomez wrote in the caption, "In honor of SHOWGIRL ... blessed to have you by my side almost 20 years later gator! I love you @taylorswift forever and always." We love to see the two celebs supporting each other. With all the things Swift's exes have spilled about her, it's great to know the "Love Story" singer has such loyal friends.
