Mira Sorvino & Husband Christopher Backus Are Total Couple Goals: 'My Artistic Inspirer'

Actor Mira Sorvino is perhaps best known for her memorable performances in movies like "Mighty Aphrodite" and "Romy and Michele's High School Reunion." However, we'd argue she deserves just as much recognition for her relationship with her husband, Christopher Backus, as she receives for her partnership with her "Romy and Michele" co-star, Lisa Kudrow. Just as Kudrow knew her husband was the one right away, Sorvino and Backus seem like they were meant for each other from the start. On the eve of their wedding anniversary in July 2026, Sorvino took the time to honor Backus and their relationship with an adorable message accompanied by photos they took together in Las Vegas. "Happiest of 22nd anniversary to my beautiful, wonderful @christopherbackus my best friend, my soul mate, my partner in crime, my artistic inspirer, my phenomenal baby daddy," Sorvino wrote in a July 2026 Instagram post. "I love you so much Chris, I can't wait to see what deeper and deeper joys await us!!"

As if Sorvino's heartfelt message wasn't proof enough that she and Backus are meant for each other, the latter responded to the post with another message proving they are a model couple. "I'm the luckiest guy in the world!!!" Backus commented. "I love you with all my heart my beautiful wonderful artistic soulful angelic wife." There's no doubt that the couple's love for each other is equal, and we can't help but gush over how public they are over their mutual adoration.

Christopher Backus and Mira Sorvino are a model couple

If it wasn't already apparent that actor Mira Sorvino and her husband, Christopher Backus were made for each other, it didn't take much time for them to recognize each other's beautiful souls and realize they were destined to be together forever. The couple dated less than a year before they exchanged vows in June 2004. They have maintained a strong, loving dynamic ever since, and Sorvino graciously shared their recipe for success.

Among the ways they try to keep things fresh in their relationship, Sorvino said regular romantic nights out are key elements to keeping their romance thriving. While some have struggled to find their footing throughout a 100 years of dating culture, Sorvino and Backus seemingly have their routine down to a science. "Date nights [without] kids are absolutely essential when you have four children, because so much of your time is spent parenting," Sorvino told People in an October 2021 interview. "You're next to each other, but you're relating to your kids, rather than to each other. So we'll go on date nights where we'll leave the kids with our trusted, wonderful, amazing nanny." Sorvino added she and Backus will usually start off at a hotel. From there, the night is their oyster. Though they both cherish their private time, Sorvino said the couple also appreciates the moments they share with their four kids.
