10 Times Pregnant Ladies Of Hollywood Weren't Afraid To Show Off Their Bumps

Like everything else in the fashion world, maternity style has evolved over the years. Once featuring looks that were overly feminine, as well as pieces that aimed to all but hide a growing bump, now maternity fashion is highly individualized. While some women prefer to stick to subtle ensembles that don't draw attention to their changing bodies, others love to put their bumps on display. Both avenues are totally okay, but the celebrities who fall into the second category have proven that being pregnant doesn't have to stop you from embracing your own take on fashion. Crop tops, low-rise bottoms, and other pieces that show off your stomach are still fair game, and might look even more chic because of the confidence that comes with wearing them while you're pregnant.

"When I saw women dress during their pregnancy [in the past], I'd think that that was the only way," Rihanna told Bustle in 2022, when she was pregnant with her first son RZA Athelston Mayers. "So I challenged myself to push it further and really just have fun with [maternity style]." The businesswoman added, "I'm not gonna buy maternity pants, jeans, dresses, or [do] whatever society told me to do before." Rather than relying on stock-standard maternity fashion, Rihanna continued to rock the rebellious style she's always been known for, which includes belly-baring looks. And several other celebrities have followed suit.

Whether they're going all out with bare stomachs on red carpets, or simply wearing off-duty looks that show a little skin, the following stars are done with society's rules for pregnant women (and that includes a few over-40 pregnant celebs who will give you the ultimate maternity style inspo). In embracing their bare bumps, they have simultaneously won style points and rewritten the age-old narrative around maternity fashion.

In June 2026, Anne Hathaway announced her third pregnancy, which kicked off a series of gorgeous red-carpet maternity looks during the press run for her blockbuster flick "The Odyssey." But in July, she stepped out in New York City's Tribeca neighborhood with an off-duty maternity style that was distinctly more laidback. The "Devil Wears Prada 2" star coordinated a navy-and-black look featuring a textured blazer and baggy blue pants that left a sliver of her baby bump on show. Paired with chic oversized sunglasses, the relaxed 'fit channeled cool confidence, and Hathaway looked gorgeous. 

Over her three pregnancies, Rihanna seemed to singlehandedly rewrite the maternity style dress code. In true RiRi fashion, she refused to let anybody's opinion on her wardrobe hold her back and instead wore whatever she wanted, leading to some flawless sartorial moments. For the launch of Fenty Beauty at Ulta in March 2022, when she was pregnant with her first child RZA Athelston Mayers, the "Diamonds" singer dazzled in a sparkling silver maxi skirt, a satin bikini-style crop top with sleeves, and a bejeweled belly chain, just in case she didn't look like enough of a superstar.

Hailey Bieber's pregnancy style should really be studied, since the model and beauty mogul never looked anything less than divine while she was pregnant with her son Jack Blues in 2024. In addition to appearing on the cover of W Magazine's summer issue that year, she donned several belly-bearing 'fits that still honored her distinct, trend-forward aesthetic. One of our favorites had to be the butterfly crop and low-rise baggy jeans she wore in one Instagram carousel. Talk about a nod to the '90s! "The butterfly top," one fan gushed.

After the two celebs had documented their IVF journey and bared it all about not being able to conceive on the Hulu series "The Kardashians," fans were thrilled, but the most exciting part might have been Kardashian's new take on maternity fashion. In stark contrast to her previous pregnancies, she reached for bold, standout looks oozing with confidence, including a blue cropped jacket and miniskirt set that she wore with silver heeled mules in an August 2023 Instagram photo.

With four kids, Cardi B has had plenty of time to cultivate a maternity style that works for her. She's had countless stunning sartorial moments during her pregnancies, including a few that showed off her bump. In September 2025, while pregnant with her fourth baby, she posted an Instagram carousel showing off some different looks, including a sheer white crop top and shorts set. Gigi Hadid found out she was pregnant with daughter Khai during New York Fashion Week in 2020, so her maternity aesthetic was destined to be stylish. The supermodel certainly had a few chic moments in figure-clinging dresses, but she also shared snaps of the more relaxed pregnancy style she rocked while laying low at home during the COVID-19 pandemic. In September 2020, she posted a photo of herself wearing a simple pair of sweatpants and a cropped tee, complemented with a bucket hat. There are celebrities who share every second of their lives with fans, and then there's Beyoncé, who's known for being rather private. Some women might feel that they have to adjust their poolside style during pregnancy, but as Ciara has demonstrated, that's just not necessary. If you want to wear the bikini, wear the bikini, because finding the perfect bathing suit for your body type is about feeling comfortable. In May 2020, the "Level Up" artist shared a photo to Instagram that showed her in a simple black bikini with a matching wrap skirt, proving that a baby bump can make your swimwear look even better. "Glowing beyond the sunshine," one fan wrote in the comment section. 

Kim Kardashian has had some unforgettable pregnancy style moments over the years. We especially love the sheer jumpsuit she wore to the LACMA Art + Film Gala in Los Angeles in November 2015. The reality star was pregnant with son Saint West at the time, and took to the blue carpet in a see-through lacy jumpsuit that left most of her belly on display. She finished the look with a silky kimono-style coat, a sparkling choker, and a burgundy lip that looked striking with her slicked-back bun.
