Here's What The Leading Ladies Of The Partridge Family Looked Like Years After The Show

The premise of "The Partridge Family" is a simple one: A single mother of five drives her kids around in a colorfully painted retired school bus to perform on stage. But this syrupy sweet sitcom was TV gold in the 1970s, making instant stars of all of the cast members. The mom, played by Shirley Jones, was already an established Broadway star, but being the "Partridge" matriarch took her fame to meteoric levels. The fictional family consisted of three brothers and two sisters, played by Susan Dey and Suzanne Crough. Though Crough passed away in 2015, Jones and Dey continued to be a presence in Hollywood long after "The Partridge Family" wrapped.

If we look back at things people found attractive in the '70s, Shirley Jones playing Shirley Partridge was definitely rocking every trend. With her cropped blond pixie and colorful outfits, which qualify as iconic '70s celeb outfits that defined the era, Jones could've been considered to be at the top of her game. But there was plenty left post-"Partridge." Jones went on to appear in dozens of TV shows and movies after "The Partridge Family" ended.  In 2023, she attended a movie screening in L.A., looking gorgeous with her white pixie and beaming raspberry smile. In March 2026, she celebrated her 92nd birthday.

Susan Dey continued acting into the early aughts

Susan Dey played daughter Laurie Partridge in "The Partridge Family," and fans still talk about how this teenage beauty affected them back in the '70s. "Every 13-year-old boy on the planet was crushing on Laurie," wrote one Instagram user on a throwback pic of the star in 2021. "TOP crush for so many of us kids!" agreed another. After "The Partridge Family" wrapped in 1974, Dey continued acting. Her most notable role was on "L.A. Law," which earned her three Emmy nominations.

After 2004, she stepped away from acting, though she remained active in the community. In 2007, she was photographed at a charity benefit in Beverly Hills, aged 54. At the time, she was rocking a center part and a chic bob, which is one of the flattering haircuts for women over 50, as evidenced by Dey. Now she reportedly lives in upstate New York, living a quieter life.
