Morgan Fairchild Spent 36 Years With 'Life Partner' Mark Seiler: Inside Their Love

It's always heartwarming to see a relationship flourish, especially in the high-pressure crucible of celebrity life. However, this also makes it all the more tragic when someone loses their long-term partner, like when "General Hospital" star Morgan Fairchild had to bid farewell to her fiancé, Mark Seiler. Though they never officially married, Fairchild and Seiler had been together for an incredible 36 years when he passed away in 2023.

On July 14 of that year, Fairchild announced Seiler's death on Instagram in a poignant memorial post. "I'm so sorry to let you know that my beloved life partner and fiancé, Mark Seiler, passed away last Friday. He'd had Parkinson's for several years, but it seems to be long COVID that killed him after his third infection," she wrote. "He was a warm, brilliant, and very funny man, and I am devastated. Hold your loved ones close and please consider wearing a mask."

Later, it came out that Seiler, 75 years old and a former studio executive, had ultimately died of a heart attack, perhaps exacerbated by his other medical conditions. "Mark died of heart attacks about seven weeks after his third COVID infection. He'd had long COVID since his second infection, but the third was too much for his body," Fairchild revealed on X (formerly Twitter) in 2024. Though she's handled Seiler's passing with remarkable grace, it's hard to imagine the scale of Fairchild's loss — especially after the couple had shared so many decades together, with a love story that began all the way back in 1980.

Not many celebrity couples manage to stay together for more than 30 years, but Morgan Fairchild and Mark Seiler made it look easy. They started dating in 1980, and the rest was history — no will-they-won't-they, no separations or breakup drama, just consistent commitment. And if three and a half decades of dedication to each other weren't proof enough, it seemed that no obstacle could interfere in the duo's romance. Fairchild loyally stuck with her man when Seiler was diagnosed with Parkinson's in 2016, helping him navigate the ups and downs of his condition.

"I love him so much," Fairchild told Closer Weekly in 2020. At the time, she and Seiler were engaged, but hadn't set a date for their wedding — and they were in no hurry to rush down the aisle. Like other celebrity couples who never plan to get married, their love had reached a depth that required no official paperwork or outside validation. "It's definitely long-term commitment, and we've been together for a long time," said Fairchild. "So we may just leave it the way it is right now. We're both getting older."

In the years since Seiler's tragic death, Fairchild has done her best to carry on. In immediate remembrance of her partner's incredible life, the "Dallas" star requested donations to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research. She's also stayed active and outspoken on social media, and even co-launched a podcast called "2 B*tches from Texas" in late 2025.
