Carnie Wilson Looks So Different Without Her Signature Red Hair

Wilson Phillips star Carnie Wilson has dropped her signature red hair for a different aesthetic. The daughter of Beach Boys' Brian Wilson revealed her new honey blond and brown tresses on Instagram in July 2026. "I waited seven years to change my hair color," she captioned a post showing off her new 'do. "I love my red, but sometimes you just need a little bit of honey." Wilson thanked her hairstylists for the color job and extension install, noting that the change left her feeling youthful again. Her followers seemed to agree with that sentiment.

The reveal post earned over 5000 likes and flattering comments. One Instagram user wrote, "You look gorgeous and 20 years younger 😍." The reason for the nostalgia may be because Wilson's hair was a similar but more brown-forward color in the early 2000s, but low-contrast browns are also one of the best hair colors for older women in general.

Carnie Wilson paired new hair color with a new lipstick

Carnie Wilson sported her new hair color to the Jeff Lewis Live show days after her reveal. The singer opted for a dark red lipstick to compliment the look. Lewis shared a photo of the star alongside Hallmark's Holly Robinson Peete, hair colorist Chaz Dean, actor Pej Vahdat, and Radio Andy. This was also a noticeable change, as Wilson would typically pair her signature red hair with a cool red lipstick and other lighter shades like pink and nude. One fan commented, "Carnie, you are beautiful. Love the hair and make up!"

A number of other famous faces have also embraced new hair colors — and celebs proudly showing off their natural gray hair has become a bit of a trend in its own right. And while Carnie Wilson has kept red as her signature shade for years, avoiding loud hair hues is one of the keys to looking great in middle age and beyond.
