Hannah Waddingham Proves Fun Fashion Is Possible In Your 50s At Ted Lasso Premiere

English actor Hannah Waddingham is one of the most versatile women in the industry. From "Game of Thrones" and "Ted Lasso" to London's West End, the Emmy-winning entertainer has done it all. Notably, Waddingham is just as successful in the fashion department as she is in the acting world. Waddingham made a stunning appearance at the red-carpet premiere of "Ted Lasso" season four, adding a unique submission to the many adventurous celeb outfits that prove older women can have so much fashion fun.

One day before her 52nd birthday, Waddingham took to the red carpet in a Monique Lhuillier strapless cream-and-gold minidress that fell to her mid-thigh, showing off her flawless figure. The London-born actor took the always-classic floral dress, which is one of the youthful outfit ideas that are beautiful on older women, and turned it on its head by using a daring cut to create a fun, subtly sultry look. While some women in their 50s might be intimidated by a dress so short, Waddingham clearly knows that mature women should always rock a piece like this one with pride.

At the season three premiere of "Ted Lasso" in 2023, Waddingham looked impossibly chic in a conservative black bodysuit and cape from Tarik Ediz. But, as stunning as her TV premiere looks have been, one of Waddingham's best red carpet moments of all time comes from the 2024 Emmy Awards, where she was both an award presenter and a nominee for her performance in "Ted Lasso." Unlike the worst-dressed celebs at the 2024 Emmys, Waddingham stood out for all the right reasons as she wore a pale green gown designed custom by Marchesa, which featured beaded embellishments and a long ruffled train. 

As a tall woman, Waddingham has discussed how she maintains her confidence in the industry — and on the red carpet — even as her height has posed conflicts with casting directors. "Never slouch – physically, emotionally, mentally, spiritually – never slouch for anyone, ever. Because I feel like I did for a long time, to feel like you fit in. Or dim your light because you're big when you come into a room. Which sounds easier than it is," Waddingham told Woman & Home during a 2024 interview. "We all have those moments when you want to recoil, but I don't think that it's good for your soul, and the people that love you will love you anyway." Waddingham is a pro at dressing for the red carpet, and she's showing women who are tall, curvy, and mature that there is space for them in Hollywood.
