Ashley Tisdale's Natural Hair Is So Different From Her Normal Style

While she's had quite the beauty evolution, Ashley Tisdale knows how to tune up her look without going too far. When fans met her as the bright, bubbly, and sometimes snappy star in Disney's "Suite Life of Zack and Cody" and "High School Musical," she graced the screen in a head full of long, bright-blond locks. However, that's far from the actor's natural hair color and texture. In a pre-Disney Facebook photo posted by Christy Carlson Romano, Tisdale is posing next to the fellow actor, and her hair was a deep brunette hue with tight ringlet curls — a complete 180 from the straighter style and honey-blond color that defined her career.

Throughout adulthood, Tisdale has gone back to her roots (literally), opting for darker brown tones. Like other celebs who rarely let their curly hair out to play, the "High School Musical" star doesn't show her natural texture often. Instead, she mostly rocks shoulder-length hair styled with gentle waves, and sometimes soft bangs. Much of the shift came after the alopecia diagnosis she received in her mid-20s after noticing a bald spot toward the front of her hairline during a routine color session. "I really started just treating my hair better and basically knowing that I couldn't take it for granted... So I treat my hair better and not stress it out so much," she told People in 2024.

Ashley Tisdale's alopecia diagnosis led to a new Frenshe line

Ashley Tisdale is another celebrity who looks just as gorgeous with her natural hair, but to maintain it, she knew she had to give her tresses more love and attention. Enter Frenshe's Hair Wellness collection, a hair care brand that Tisdale developed, which was released in February 2025. Tisdale said the goal of the line was simple: To nourish your hair in hopes of lessening the heat styling and stress people put on their strands. "There are so many products out there that help you achieve more volume and all these things. We're always asking our hair to do certain things. I want us to just let it be. It's not until we start having hair thinning that we're like, 'What do I do?' So let's start now and give love to our hair," she told People in 2025 at the New York City launch event.

The haircare line features 12 products overall, categorized into three collections: Moisture, Clarify, and Restore, and the brand retails at a more affordable price point so that consumers can give their hair more TLC without breaking the bank. Compared to some haircare lines, Frenshe has a fairly modest number of straightforward products, but that's in line with Tisdale's ultimate hair tip. "My secret to hair growth and hair health is that I just feel like less is more," she told InStyle in 2025.
