It's not just her hair that's big! Dolly Parton comes from a massive family, too. The country music icon was the fourth of twelve children born to parents Robert Lee Parton and Avie Lee Parton, giving her a total of 11 siblings, made up of five sisters — Willadeene, Stella, Cassie, Freida, and Rachel — and six brothers — David, Coy, Randy, Bobby, Larry, and Floyd. Just like the larger-than-life country superstar, many of Dolly's siblings have made careers in the entertainment industry as singers or writers, while other members of the family have led private lives away from the spotlight.

Dolly has also lost a handful of her siblings. In July 2026, her brother Coy "Denver" Parton died at the age of 82, becoming the fifth sibling to pass away. Randy Parton, a renowned singer-songwriter, died in 2021 at the age of 67, which Dolly confirmed in a statement on Facebook, revealing that Randy had lost a battle with cancer. Floyd, who worked alongside Dolly as a songwriter, died in 2018 at the age of 61, while David Parton, Dolly's oldest brother, died in 2024 at the age of 82. As for her brother Larry, he died just four days after his birth in 1955, when Dolly was only 9 years old.

Over the years, Dolly has maintained close relationships with many of her siblings. She has even frequently shared the limelight with some of her brothers and sisters throughout her career — and there are photos to prove it. While it's rare to find photos of Dolly Parton and some of her more private siblings, the same can't be said for her sister Rachel Parton. Since co-authoring a cookbook together in 2024, titled "Good Lookin' Cookin,'" Dolly and Rachel have frequently appeared together in social media pics, like in a photo posted the day before the cookbook hit bookshelves. Earlier that year, Dolly posted a throwback pic with the caption, "My sister Rachel and I just a few years ago ... And now we're writing a cookbook together!"

Dolly Parton spent years working alongside her younger brother Floyd Parton, a prolific songwriter who helped write some of her chart-topping hits. The only one not pictured is her late brother Larry, who died as an infant. In the pic, it's clear that Dolly's hair had more of a sandy blond shade at the time, which is quite different from the icy blond color she's now known for. Dolly Parton's natural hair is gorgeous but her reason for wearing wigs is so relatable.

In April 2017, Dolly Parton took to Facebook in honor of National Siblings Day to share a portrait of her entire family, including her five brothers, five sisters, and her parents, Avie Lee and Robert Lee Parton. It's unclear when the photo was taken, but it is one of the rare snapshots that feature the siblings all together as adults. While looking back on her childhood, Dolly told The Guardian in February 2016, "With that many brothers and sisters there was plenty of teasing and fighting, but we were all in it together."
