The Audrey Hepburn Clothing Item That Her Granddaughter Still Wears To This Day

It's no secret that "Breakfast at Tiffany's" star Audrey Hepburn had a renowned impact on fashion. Hepburn's granddaughter is among the many who have been influenced by the icon's style, and that's partly because her grandmother actually left her some pieces from her wardrobe. "All I can think of are her cashmere turtlenecks, which I adore and wear all throughout the winter," Emma Ferrer told Harper's Bazaar in 2014, when asked if she still had anything from the screen legend. Funnily enough, Ferrer's favorite Hepburn film is "Funny Face," where the star was seen wearing a black turtleneck while walking the Parisian streets. In addition to the sweaters, Ferrer also cherishes a white teddy bear that belonged to Hepburn.

Though Ferrer never met her grandmother, who died in 1993 (a year prior to her birth) due to abdominal cancer, her father's stories about the icon has kept their personal connection alive."I couldn't really relate to Audrey Hepburn, the actress. To me, she was family," the artist explained. Watching a young Hepburn radiate on screen serves as a reminder of her grandmother's "magical" impact not only on herself, but on the world.

The impact of Audrey Hepburn's Sabrina wardrobe on fashion can still be seen today

Even for those who haven't inherited any of her actual wardrobe, Audrey Hepburn continues to inspire fashion today, with some of her most self-styled iconic "Sabrina" ensembles being replicated and re-popularized. Among celebs who were stylistically inspired by her role in the 1954 film are Sabrina Carpenter and Ivanka Trump. Carpenter, who nailed the 2026 Met Gala theme and looked like walking art, wore a Dior gown embellished with film strips containing literal stills from the movie. In true Hepburn fashion, Carpenter completed the look with a bejeweled headpiece. On the other hand, Trump stunned at the 2025 Liberty Ball in a rendition of the floral black-and-white gown Hepburn wore in "Sabrina." Despite subtle differences in embroidery placement and glove color, the custom Givenchy gown was an iconic nod to the actor.

While there are a number of Audrey Hepburn outfits that still feel timeless, her styling of capri pants in "Sabrina" may be the most overlooked. Audrey Hepburn helped popularize the pants style, pairing her capris with a long-sleeve shirt and ballet flats for the film. Today, capris have resurged in popularity among celebrities and everyday women alike, proving that Hepburn's legacy lives on.
