'80s Supermodel And Entrepreneur Carol Alt Is Still A Bombshell Today
You may remember her best as "The Face" of the '80s, but supermodel Carol Alt is definitely more than just a pretty face. But, with high cheekbones, gorgeous baby blues, and the perfect model pout, it's easy to see where Alt got her nickname. Her career began in the late '70s and skyrocketed after she appeared on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue (much like '80s and '90s supermodel Kathy Ireland, who also graced the SI cover). In 1983, Alt's entrepreneurial spirit was born when she created her own posters, calendars, and workout videos, blazing the trail for future supermodels to become their own brand. Since then, Alt has added additional roles to her resume, including author, actor, host, and raw food advocate.
In 2026, at the age of 65, Alt is looking better than ever. In this snap from the 2026 New York Asian Film Festival's VIP Gala in New York City, Alt wore her long chestnut locks straight down with a side-part and side-swept bangs just skimming her eyebrows. Her carefully-lined eyes and thick mascara made her blue eyes pop. After many years in the industry, Alt has learned what works for her face and her features, especially as she ages. "I once had a woman try to tell me that as you get older, you should put less mascara on. But I just love lashes," Alt told Allure. "A nice coating of mascara is important because it makes the eyes look bigger and fuller."
Carol Alt shared how eating a raw food diet changed her life
Carol Alt admits that her life as a supermodel wasn't always easy. In fact, amidst the constant travel and pressure to be thin, she dealt with severe health issues that left her feeling weak and exhausted, and as she told Fox News, "on the verge of death." During her hectic modeling days, Alt was running on empty, dealing with sinus infections, indigestion, bloating, and brittle hair and nails. She knew her poor nutrition habits were only making things worse.
Thanks to the advice of a friend, she met with a doctor who specialized in the raw food diet, and at the age of 35, she slowly changed her eating habits and improved her health. These lifestyle changes can also aid potential digestion issues. "Now I have a ton of energy, and I work out five times a week," Alt told Yahoo! Life in 2025. "For me, it was a silver lining. I have a reason to stay on the straight and narrow with healthy raw food and my supplements." But Alt admits she isn't against indulging every once in a while. "I cheat. I'm not an angel. I'm not Super Woman," she told Allure.
