Remember '80s Star Sean Young? Here's What She Looks Like Now

If you watched the original "Blade Runner," you were probably one of the millions of viewers enamored by the haunting, noir beauty of Harrison Ford's opposite, Rachael, played by Sean Young, who is an '80s actor you might find unrecognizable now. She was one of the most popular actors from the era and she dominated the silver screen across so many genres. From neo-noir to suspense and even comedy, she effortlessly proved her versatility. 

In the '80s, Young was best known for her black hair and intense, icy gaze. From '40s-inspired victory rolls to the sleekest updos, the "Dune" star always sported hairstyles that were structured and so chic. Her makeup matched the same dramatic energy and was often defined by sharp contouring, a bold lip, and deep smokey eyes that accentuated her fierce aesthetic. But a photo of the actor from the 2025 TCM Classic Film Festival shows Young, who is in her 60s, still glowing on the red carpet.

She proudly showed off her gray hair and her eyes had noticeably become softer when compared to the sharp intensity of her youth. Over the years, her makeup style softened as well as she swapped out her heavy '80s eyeliner for a fresh, glowing base and a dash of terracotta eyeshadow with the perfect berry lip for her complexion. Showing off a matured style, she topped off her red carpet look with a sharp black blazer layered over a vibrant red top, anchoring the 'fit with an eye-catching statement necklace. 

"Charismatic" might be one of the best words to describe Sean Young. The actor has never been afraid to speak her mind, and it might be that strong willpower that gives her such a commanding presence. In a candid interview with The Guardian in 2015, she opened up about the pressure that aging actors face in Hollywood, and why a comeback wouldn't be realistic for her at all. The "No Way Out" actor described the industry's double standards for aging women, saying, "It's like putting a beautiful racehorse out to pasture before her time and then after 20 years expecting her to be the same horse." She touched on this idea further in a 2021 interview with the Daily Beast, revealing, "Ever since the movie business began, women have been treated as a commodity. There was always someone grabbing you ..." These days, it's no wonder she's largely dodged starring in blockbuster hits, telling The Guardian that she was "happily avoiding the world's problems in Astoria with my family and my dog."

Speaking up for herself and other women might have got her shunned from Hollywood, but Young has never apologized for standing her ground. That unapologetic mindset applies to the industry and fans hoping she might look ageless and frozen in time no matter how many years go by. While there's nothing wrong with celebrating famous older women who don't seem to age, Young has made it clear it's not fair to expect everyone to remain unchanged.
