'A Little Wild Is Okay': Emma Heming Willis Is Raising Her Daughters To Embrace Fun

Emma Heming Willis is looking to bring more fun into her time with daughters Mabel and Evelyn Willis, channeling the playful spirit of their dad, Bruce Willis. The entrepreneur and health advocate appeared on Hoda Kotb's "Making Space" podcast in August 2026, where she opened up about her at-home life and how she's making more room for fun with her girls. "As I'm raising our two young daughters, I really need to bring more of that into our lives," she shared, adding that Bruce has been a huge influence. "Fun, off the cuff ... a little wild is okay. And I really appreciate that, that he has given me that ... His saying is 'live it up,' and that's what I just try and remember all the time is to live it up." 

While reflecting on her love story with Bruce, Emma explained their opposite personalities — Bruce being more spontaneous and Emma describing herself as more "Type-A." The former model likely knows how Type-A and Type-B personality types affect our compatibility. But now, as Emma raises their two daughters while also caring for Bruce following his frontotemporal dementia (FTD) diagnosis, she credits her husband with helping bring balance to their relationship and home. "I think that what he has instilled in me today is to be a little bit more spontaneous, have a little more fun ... where I can tend to sort of want to put things in a box," she told Kotb.

Emma Heming Willis has big roles to juggle each day as mom to Mabel and Evelyn Willis and wife and caregiver to Bruce Willis. In September 2025, she opened up to People about creating a "calm and serene atmosphere" for Bruce and explained why she ultimately moved him into a separate house adjacent to the one she shares with their daughters. "We have two young children, and it was just important that they had a home that supported their needs and that Bruce could have a place that supported his needs," she shared. "The kids can have playdates and sleepovers [again] and not have to walk around tiptoeing."

Emma gives her girls plenty of room for fun both in and outside the house, which she often shares on social media. "The Getty gave us art, stunning gardens, sunshine, and the perfect spot for a picnic. Grateful for this slow Sunday with the girls," she captioned a July 2025 Instagram post. The photo showed Emma smiling alongside Mabel and Evelyn, who, much like Bruce and Demi Moore's gorgeous older daughters, showed an adorable family resemblance.

In March 2026, Emma shared photos from a night out with her daughters at The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration's Hope Rising Benefit, where she announced the launch of the Emma & Bruce Willis Fund for Dementia Research and Caregiver Support (via People). Her commitment to keeping Mabel and Evelyn informed about their dad's condition has been just as intentional. "I've never tried to sugarcoat anything for them," she told Town & Country. "They've grown up with Bruce declining over the years. I'm not trying to shield them from it." The transparency Emma offers her daughters is among the simple ways to improve communication in any relationship.
