Remember '80s Child Star Carrie Henn? Here's What She Looks Like Today
At the tender age of 8 years old, Carrie Henn accepted her most career-defining acting role as Rebecca "Newt" Jorden in the 1986 film "Aliens." Though Henn is all grown up now, she retains many of the unforgettable features she had in the '80s. Her hair is still blond, her cheeks are still rosy, and her cool blue eyes still hold the innocence of little Newt. Decades later, Henn is still benefiting from her role, frequently appearing at movie screenings and conventions to meet fans. The "Aliens" star also attended the 53rd annual Saturn Awards in March 2026, where the cast accepted the George Pal Memorial Award in honor of the film's 40th anniversary.
Today, she leads a rather normal life, wears glasses, and appears to have a simple, modest approach to fashion. "Fortunately, in my regular everyday life, I don't get [approached] too much," Henn, one of many unrecognizable famous '80s actors, shared with LRM Online while on the red carpet. "But when I go to conventions, it's really nice to meet people and to thank them for helping keep 'Aliens' alive for as long as it is." Henn also won a Saturn Award in 1987 for best performance by a younger actor, so it's easy to understand the impression she left on fans and why they're still interested in her all these years later.
Carrie Henn still remembers her Aliens days fondly
Carrie Henn makes convention appearances every few years, keeping her post-fame look pretty steady. In October 2021, she attended Fandom Invasion in California, wearing side-parted blond hair and her go-to purple-rimmed glasses. Her aesthetic may have understandably changed since the '80s, but just as fans haven't forgotten her, Henn remembers the set of "Aliens" fondly.
One particular core memory occurred in between takes for the air duct scene, and relates to a conversation she had with a makeup artist. "I was really hot and sweaty ... and the makeup lady was like fixing me up ... and I said, 'I'm sweating like a pig,'" the '80s child star laughed while appearing on the "Just Foolin About with Michael Biehn" podcast. "And she said, 'No, ladies don't sweat like pigs; we glow,' and she walked off ... [I didn't realize I had] on the microphone so everyone in the whole studio could hear, when I said, 'I don't care what she said. I'm sweating like a pig.'" Her other on-set memories include building an extremely long paper chain and spending time with Carl Toop in his alien costume.
Though she's now largely out of the public eye, Henn is one of many child stars who grew up to be gorgeous, evoking nostalgia among fans of classic '80s films and more. Next, check out how "My Two Dads" star Staci Keenan is still stunning decades after her '80s heyday.
